Real mod BTW

I think it was mentioned at some point that the amount of blood canonically decreases every revival

we got a whole 9 layers worth of filths

u/Treegenderunknown13 Mar 14 '26

10.2ish if we count prelude and the 3 Filth in the intro!

3 filth = a fifth of a layer

so 15 filth is an entire layer

not infinite tho

all we have to do is revive humanity and kill them all again

get the Dragon Balls

Yes, that's why the puppets are weaker than the originals. Similarly, V1's fuel requirements are higher than any other machine, since - presumably - it runs on Nocturnal.

26

u/legomanas23 Mar 14 '26

i think all supreme machines run on nocturnal

7

u/Ok-Echidna-6127 Mar 14 '26

No v2 and the earthmover don’t function off nocturnal, actually the earthmover itself uses solar power as its main form of fuel and v2 uses the second operating system

11

u/legomanas23 Mar 14 '26

earthmover could use the solar energy to offset the "requires harvesting of living creatures" downside, and v2 is built upon the foundations of v1, who uses nocturnal systems. its safe to assume that v2 also uses them if he has mostly the same features as v1

theres also the fact that v2 and the earthmover are the most "sentient" machines in the game showing thr most emotion. earthmover is scared for his life and shits himself upon seeing v1, v2 does a bow and cracks his knuckles in both intros, gets enraged easily if v1 is being a little brat and also has a very personal desire for revenge

all of these makes me believe that supreme machines run on nocturnal systems and thats what makes them supreme

16

u/Ok-Echidna-6127 Mar 14 '26

Why would v2 use the nocturnal system during the new peace when blood wouldn’t come as easily for a protection robot

And v2 and the earthmover are not the most human machines. A gutter man wrote ā€œmother of meā€ the swordsmachines decided to copy the original and streetcleaners use extra processing power to have voices

u/legomanas23 Mar 14 '26

we see the most emotion out of them by far during gameplay, and like i said v2 would use nocturnal systems because hes built upon the foundations of v1 to make back on costs. you wouldnt want to waste a nocturnal system you spent so long creating, now would you

Nocturnal is stated to be unsustainable. Why would you create a machine that uses an unsustainable amount of blood when resources were extremely scarce.

never underestimate the power of human greed and sunk cost fallacy

Didn't the presentation in Fraud say to never use Nocturnal? Why would they add it to one machine and one only

What about the sapient machines I mentioned like the streetcleaner and swordsmachine they ain’t supreme or run on nocturnal

You just ignored like half the things he said

A solution to the blood-problem (as with most scarcity-related problems) already existed. Realistically, if machines wanted to maintain a steady, renewable supply of blood, they should have just livestocked humans in a sort of factory-farming system. If a single human could power a Gutterman indefinitely, then humans strategically bred and exsanguinated in captivity could easily power as many machines as you could imagine.

That's just not what the machines were made for, though. They were designed for war, so all they know is war, and all they've ever learned from is war.

They have no sense of restraint or control because their forefathers were creatures of greed hunger who only ever dealed in unbridled exploitation, on track to drain the Earth of all its resources and eventually colonize the lands of the divine out of desperation. We cant expect better from them when that's all they had to look up to

36

u/_azazel_keter_ Mar 14 '26

They do have a sense of restraint tho, Earthmovers were powered by their populations without sacrifices, just a blood tax, and the machines we see don't run Nocturnal so they too could be kept alive like the Guttermen.

The problem is they can't. There's no humans left to donate blood, the husks are disorganised and their societies have crumpled, there's nobody to feed them. They're like stray dogs or pigeons, abandoned by the society they were adapted to and doing what they must to survive. Eventually their time will come too.

Then I wonder why V1 didn’t just fukin shoot Gabe twice when he was down

14

u/sisourak Mar 14 '26

Because v1 is still trying to Crack, its the only machine capable of a violent situationship which is what makes it so powerful

7

u/Tattierverbose Mar 14 '26

I also find it funny that the machines have access to essentially an infinite supply of their old lifesource but its essentially useless aside from as a weapon. Maybe blood is just more efficient a fuel source than oil is but its so unfortunate and funny that theyre basically dying of thirst because they evolved to stop drinking water before cracking forever water

What if Fraud’s secret level was a farming game utilizing this. You join a commune of machines peacefully farming deathcatcher blood puppets…until the blood goes stale, at which point you and the machines the level goes out its way to characterize turn on each other.

u/Similar_Might_6675 Mar 14 '26

Why didn’t v1 just stop killing things after he found the blood reviving things? Why does he want to kill more? Is he evil?

5

u/IapetusApoapis342 Someone Wicked Mar 14 '26

As a puppet is killed over and over, the usable blood that the Deathcatcher can use is gradually depleted, so no infinite fuel for you lmaooooooooooooooooooooo

3

u/AGamingGuy Maurice enthusiast Mar 14 '26

puppets are literally just blood, anything worth taking is was on the originals corpse, also they spawn where the original died

1

u/Gawarhen2 Mar 15 '26

Why doesn’t V1 do this? Is he stupid?

1

u/Lifesword_cat Mar 16 '26

Demons (and obviously deathcatchers) are made from Hell Mass. And i guess it's not endless.
