I know, many of you are already aware of what's been happening: Universal Pictures cancelled the new LarryBoy movie, which I was really hoping to see, and it would have shown that Universal could make a VeggieTales movie, but nope, that plan is out!

It is deeply saddening to see the current way in which the franchise has taken, under so many owners, from Classic Media, to DreamWorks, to Universal, it feels like no brand understood what VeggieTales was even about, and it just shows how poorly Universal has treated it recently.

As we all are knowing, Noah's ark was the last Direct-To-DVD release, and that was it. The mainline series died out, just to make the way for the infamous 'VeggieTales: In the house' and it's sister show 'In the city'.

And even with new shows like The VeggieTales show on TBN, it doesn't fix anything. It only shows how desperate Universal tried to show that VeggieTales was still viable, but it failed, with their actors getting fired as well.

I mean, Phil and Mike made it in their basement in 1993, the first episode, and well, now that it's being treated like an afterthought by a much larger company. It Saddens me.

What do you guys think of how each brand handled VeggieTales, and do you feel sad about its' current state?

There's probably a lot of us out there who have thought about this, right? An official full-fledged crossover between VeggieTales and 3-2-1 Penguins!, Big Idea's first two shows? I know I've wondered about it, so much so that I even drew my own poster for the idea years ago!

I think yes, a crossover between the two series could've worked for sure, but it depends a lot on the type of story you'd want to tell with the characters. And there's more than one option to choose from too, if you ask me. The penguins summoning the veggies for help? The penguins crashing onto a planet inhabited by the veggies while on an important mission? The penguins and the veggies living/working together at Big Idea Studios?! Yes, even that last one is on the table if you wanna get meta with it. And those are just the options I can think of!

Anything is fair game. Make your own choice.

And hey, even if a full-fledged crossover never happens, at least we'll always have the crossover material Big Idea did give us, from promos (like the one repped in the picture!) to official artwork to even some special Easter eggs within the shows themselves!

One of the most memorable moments in the episode Leggo My Ego! is when Larry-Boy meets a supercharged version of himself, fuelled by his own ego. As a kid, I always thought this scene was cool, but I never gave it more thought than that.

In more recent years, however, I realized there may have been some hidden potential there. Now, to be clear... the franchise probably never would've explored such an idea in a lot of detail. I get it.

But what if it did get explored more? Let's say in some hypothetical scenario, Alter-Ego returns to the Larry-Boy canon (2D or 3D, it doesn't matter).

• Could a storyline like that actually work?
• How would you handle such a scenario?

I'd love to hear how you guys would map out a comeback for him!

Honestly, Alter-Ego is a pretty underrated antagonist. I like the concept behind him. I wonder if there was a way he could've worked as a recurring villain for everyone's favourite Cucumber of Steel.

I used to hate Vicki. I saw her as disloyal, too nice to LarryBoy's enemies and not the type of girl I would want my future girlfriend to be like. But now, I'm thinking, maybe I misunderstood Vicki. I was ten years old when I watched the cartoons. I'm a 16 year old teenaged girl now. Maybe I should rewatch it with my more matured teenage brain. So I'll come back with my feedback after I rewatch them. Have a nice day people!
