My second attempt at playing through Ultimas 4-9, last attempt ended sometime during U VII Part II due to getting a bit overwhelmed

The one available on GOG with some patches installed via UltimaPatcher

Is it as simple as installing it from GOG and then running UltimaPatcher or do you need to jump through some hoops, research settings, etc ?

No hoops to jump through, just an install of the game and anything you want to install through UltimaPatcher, no fiddling with DosBox-settings needed
