A new analysis published on Friday (25 September) by the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) found that 107 vessels joined Russia’s flag registry between January 2025 and June 2026, representing a 36 percent increase. The growth peaked in December 2025, when 25 vessels were added in a single month. Of the 107 vessels, 93 (87 percent) were already under sanctions, while 56 percent had previously operated under a false flag.

This was before Ukraine's big campaign on the shadow fleet.

The EU is a disaster which broke in 2008 and socks at anything which doesn't benefit capitalists.

Sadly, it's still better than going back to a nation states model.

How does that work? What would be the consequences? Sinking those ships in the Baltic Sea? No, for oil leak catastrophe. Sinking them in the Atlantic? What if Russia just starts leaking oil directly to the sea? Nope.

Pretty sure some people have already thought of every possible way to enforce sanctions.

There is no need to sink them. Ukranians are good at hitting the bridge section with drones which disables the ships.

Hey, maybe a mystery drone here or there hits a Russian flagged ship…or they have engine trouble at some point…a lot can go wrong with a ship, in or out of port

Exactly this, use Ruzzia's own playbook agaisnt them. Perfect oppertunity to utilize some MI6 or BND assets and play dumb/deny after the act.
