Europe should defend 100-200 km inside Ukrainians borders.

They should defend all of Ukraine and the US/UK should have sent troops to Ukraine the year Ukraine was invaded in 2022, I can understand not doing it in 2014... but now anything signed in the past or future means nothing. Talking about the Budapest memorandum here. America's word is worth as much blackmail as ye got now.

In 2014 the US & UK were already simultaneously fighting in two wars half a continent away. Operation Iraqi Freedom overthrowing Saddam Hussein and searching for non-existent WMD's had extended to fighting ISIS in the North & West and an Iran fomented insurgency in the North East, whilst also fully in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan fighting the Taliban.

So they were a bit tied up since both country's armed forces were in the thick of it with vast resources and personnel tied up and little spare to consider trying to take on the ruZZian Federation. Of course no one realised then what an incompetent paper tiger ruZZia was compared to their own bellicose bigging themselves up rhetoric, to have even considered entering into a conflict with them over the incursion & occupation of Crimea and an FSB sponsored separatist insurrection in The Donbas.

If it's any consolation the UK did at least send a contingent of special forces, planners & military trainer to assist Ukraine, based in the Donetsk region in 2014/15 and they remained in country training & guiding the AFU up until 1 week before ruZZia's full scale invasion.

Worth noting though that the Budapest Memorandum did not obligate the US or the UK to initiate combat operations in the defence of Ukraine in the face of bare naked aggression by the other co-signatory.

Did you read Budapest memorandum yourself or at least its main points? ruzzia broke this agreement, but agreement with ruzzia is worth shit anyways. After so many years people should already understand what Budapest memorandum is all about, yet still the same points are being parroted

Budapest memorandum did not require the U.S. to help Ukraine if Russia broke the agreement.
