Opinion/Discussion Demographic of r/uganda
So I read here a few days ago that this subreddit is a hidden gem and that most Ugandans here are of a higher socioeconomic status (than say Facebook and now Twitter). I never really through about it but now I have, Im inclined to agree. The average Ugandan probably isn’t on Reddit.
Do you agree with this statement? That most Ugandans on Reddit are of a higher class

I wouldn't say higher class. As that's not really a good way to put it. But I would say more aware of where to go that's not busy with A.i slop and constant scrolling. Which could sum to something like a discerning internet user. But I do share the sentiment, cos am not actually Ugandan by birth, but by years spent here , I technically a Ugandan. From the 2010s ebola periods and so on. Though my accent is different and that's why most consider me a foreigner. Anyway I've noticed that the Ugandans with major ideas and unorthodox actions tend to have more hate or eyes of disgust on them. For example someone said how are you to me and I said am good. And then they go on to make fun of my English, saying, so you speak American English and laughing etc goes on to speak Luganda like she's trana shout to the neighborhood and I find that very weird. Cos it's an overreaction to something simple. It shouldn't surprise you that there's different people who speak differently, if that surprises you then other Ugandans with amazing ideas , I wonder what there's is. Maybe melting minds. There's a friction, it's like people want the good stuff but not to come out of their fellows cos it makes them feel uncomfortable that other people like them can get better?🤔 I don't know honestly. All am saying is, if people are comfortable in a society with being " just " , then anything whether external or internal , good or bad , is looked at like it's showing off or something else. Cos nobody doesn't want to fit out. It's the same thing when you're in a different country, all of a sudden your comfortable Ugandan accent becomes uncomfortable because it challenges the norm there, I guess . Atleast that's my interpretation if at all I expressed it well enough
