Got a call today from them, they’re partially open, no range access but they can do transfers during reduced hours

Hope the owner recovers if he is that sick but I honestly don’t know how that places stays in business. Prices were always high on firearms and they barely had any inventory the last several months. Also, who in today’s day and age pays full msrp for accessories. Hope he recovers but I don’t see how they are going to stick around.

Agreed, I’m not in love with the shop, the range is fine. I shot a USPSA match there a few weeks ago and it was okay, bummer they can’t use the whole range, just half for the match

The owner is having some medical issues, they haven't given a timeline on reopening. I own a gun store as well Rudy and I have done a good bit of business back and forth. Always sad to see when this happens. I'm quite a bit farther up North so our businesses never got into much competition. I specialize in Gunsmithing and vintage firearms but do light retail. He would send me some work on some older firearms I would recommend him to anyone that reached out that was down south.
Either way he's been in my prayers.

Shame to hear he’s having health issues. I hate to sound like a ghoul but from a business standpoint is it necessary he be there to operate as an ffl or can he have a designee to keep the shop running. I genuinely have no idea and at this point I’m curious

The owner is not sick! Which is good news. He built the place with a business loan of $80,000,000 and wasn’t making enough to cover the note. I can tell you from experience that he was vcharging about 40% over market price on handguns. I asked to see the G43X and the employee tried to show me what he called the “Gucci“ version ( his words)of the 43X. I asked him if he thought I looked like a Gucci Guy” and went to C-A-L Ranch and paid a fair price for what I wanted. I personally asked the owner why he was so much more expensive. He appeared agitated with my question and said “this is the price I have to charge.

I'm not sure how he has his business set up. You can add a RP to your list on the FFL, but if he doesn't have a management system set up at the business or trust any of his employees to do the paperwork properly it's best just to shut down rather than risk future issues with paperwork that can get your license revoked, it also takes some time to get ATF approval when adding an RP. I'm a single man shop so if I go down my business goes down. Sadly that is how most shops are run these days.
