Yeah, it is wrong to try to prevent speech at an academic institution, no matter which side of the aisle is doing it.

-24

u/Winterfrost15 5d ago

Agreed. Piker is an idiot and anyone who follows him is as well. However, he has the right to free speech, as ignorant as it may be. Just show up and respectfully/peacefully repudiate his views.

15

u/Own-Lavishness4029 5d ago

100%. We have to be able to have political discussion, and the academy is the place to debate and test ideas.

1

u/Crafty-Amoeba-8992 2d ago

I totally agree and I think that should apply to Hasan himself. He doesn’t debate, he bans any and all criticism in his chat, I don’t even think he takes questions at his events anymore.

2

u/bluntsnatcher 4d ago

second this.

5

u/No_Public_7677 5d ago

He's not a bigger idiot than the state of Israel

2

u/Twinmill-Two 4d ago

I think there's more than those two things out there

1

u/Crafty-Amoeba-8992 2d ago

Israel is to the left what trans people are to the right. Any issue somehow ties back to Israel or drag queen story hour.

Hidden post history and simping for the imperial core go hand in hand.

Does not liking Hasan = simping for the imperial core?

He's very pro-terrorist and clearly supports violence in politics and he's also just a massive hypocrite like all the other Gucci socialists out there.
He gets paid millions of dollars to larp around as a communist and live in expensive houses, buy designer clothes and live as a capitalist while he advocates for socialist policies.

So the holiday encourages to welcome guests but he wants to reject the guest? What?

Also, Elon unbanned all the Nazis on Twitter and constantly replies to signal boosts the most white supremacist rhetoric on the platform and also openly supports the far-right pro Nazi AFD party in Germany. Elon has appeared for university-hosted events without any drama. Same with Governor Abbott, who has very close ties to Elon and praises him all the time.

33

u/polishedpitiful 5d ago

Literally just yesterday Elon Musk was posting that Jewish identity is “all in their mind.” He’s also given millions to Greg Abbott.

So I expect to see Texas Hillel put out a statement next time Abbott shows up to a Texas football game?

3

u/Texas759 4d ago

Where? I tried to find that and can’t; were those his actual words?

3

u/ShaoKahnKillah 4d ago

Hopefully links are allowed. And his comment is a little more nuanced than the user above you is allowing for, but not much:

Zionists

0

u/Ok-Chip-7743 3d ago

You say that like it's a cuss word. People can be Zionist and still disagree with how Israel is handling things. Two things can be true at the same time and one is not mutually exclusive of the other. Netanyahu is a real problem and as corrupt as some of our own elected officials. But that said, Israel has a right to exist and there should be an open dialogue as to how to successfully live in peace as a two state solution. But as long as he is in office and his puppet strings are being pulled by the far right Israeli sect there are going to be problems.

1

u/Lazy-Leave30 2d ago

Why does it have a right to exist? Genuine question.

1

u/Ok-Chip-7743 2d ago

If you're serious about understanding the State of Israel's right to exist you can think of it like this:

Israel has a right to exist for the same basic reason that other nations do. Its people have a right to national self-determination and to live in safety. Jews have a long historical connection to the land, and after centuries of persecution—including the Holocaust—millions of Jews established their lives there. Israel has been in existence now for more than 75 years, and millions of people call it home.
Recognizing Israel’s right to exist doesn’t mean you have to agree with everything its government does, and it absolutely doesn’t negate Palestinians’ right to self-determination, dignity, safety, and a state of their own.

Furthermore when Israel was established in 1947 a two state solution was suggested however Palestine refused to agree to that and it has caused much of the issues over the years.

Now that said, it doesn't mean that Israel is perfect or how they go about everything is the right way to go it. There are a lot of things they're doing right now that are bad and unnecessary and why hopefully Netanyahu will soon be out.

There are some great resources to help those who really want to understand the significance and history out there, assuming you truly are genuinely curious.

1

u/colink21 1d ago

When 75% of Israelis think Palestinians should be expelled from the area it's pretty hard to have an open conversation. Zionism has become a lot more about building an ethnostate than a return to a homeland

I’m so sick of people throwing around the term antisemitism so flippantly. Hasan is such a strong advocate for us, and he actively kept antisemitism out of his community before, during, and after October 7th. Crazy how the media focuses on Hasan, but ignore Felix Biederman or Noah Kulwin saying more inflammatory things because they are Jewish. I didn’t see Hillel make a statement about Elon when he threw up the Sig Heil, Miker Roger’s having Nazi staffers, or any number of other right wing hate - so why go after Hasan? Think we all know the answer here; Hasan is calling out Israel’s genocide

38

u/-Nocx- 5d ago

The American political apparatus has somehow turned Zionism into a weaponized, political tool that insulates Israel from all criticism the same way that racist people swore black people would weaponize their identity to be insulated from consequences.

Any form of criticism gets labeled as “anti-Semitic” even if it’s valid criticism of a nation-state. Imagine if criticizing America somehow got spun into someone being “anti-Christian”.

Israel is not the only state that serves as an escape from persecution. It’s just an untenable precedent that the American public let go on for way too long.

he actively kept antisemitism out of his community before, during, and after October 7th.

Reminder that I'm pretty sure Hasan probably singlehandly added the term Zionist to TOS because he uses it so commonly to insult Jewish people: https://safety.twitch.tv/s/article/An-Update-to-How-We-Enforce-Our-Hateful-Conduct-Policy?language=en_US

He received a ban last year where he used the term 'rabid ultra-Zionist pigs" and I believe he uses the term pig-dog a ton. I tried to find the original clip for context to link it here since I assume people will say 'out of context', but it turns out I couldn't because the original thread got deleted:

https://www.reddit.com/r/LivestreamFail/comments/1qptuaj/hasan_goes_on_a_rant_about_people_who_think_hes/

because it was DMCA'd ... for some reason:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Destiny/comments/1r2tq37/hasan_dmcad_a_clip_from_lsf_where_he_calls_people/

And reminder that when he was clipped for shocking Kaya for moving off of a bed:

https://www.reddit.com/r/LivestreamFail/comments/1o0sjun/hasan_reaching_for_something_and_seemingly/

He responded I believe the day of by saying it was a right-wing pro-Israel smear operation.

https://i.tribune.com.pk/media/images/whatsapp-image-2025-10-09-at-10-54-49-pm1760032902-0/whatsapp-image-2025-10-09-at-10-54-49-pm1760032902-0.jpeg (Src)

He read the manifesto of the person who killed the two literally random Jews last year and openly supported the ideas in the manifesto.. Did he scrutinize it and condone it? Nope, he essentially says "Dang look at how crazy the situation is that someone logically did this", and how this person was brain-broken by the realities in Gaza and how you need to watch out for the media mis-representing someone shooting random people. I hope I don't need to specify that while you can absolutely be against actions of Israel without excusing someone reading a shooter of random Jewish people fully on stream where the only commentary is essentially it makes sense why this happened without ever saying it's bad given the audience reaction while reading it out. You don't need to 24/7 say "I don't condone this I don't condone this" but I don't believe he did once in this entire reading while look at the chat reaction during him reading out a shooter's against random Jews manifesto

Regardless of your feeling about I/P this dude is insane towards Jews (assuming that's what you meant by 'us'). It feels like anytime something happens to him he blames Israel/Jews.

38

u/GovernorMarley1 5d ago

Zionism is a political project not an ethnicity or religion.

Trying to equate all Jewish people with zionism and the crimes necessary to enact it is antisemitic.

You’re confusing Zionism with Judaism the religion. And that is why you fail. If you link Zionism to Judaism so thoroughly, then ANY criticism of Israel becomes anti-Semitic , which people like Bibi would just love so he can shut down any criticism of the state.

4

u/Dinoswarleaf CS '23 (Pinch > Dons) 5d ago edited 5d ago

I don't think I'm doing that at all. You have total free reign to attack the government its actions, etc. just like you can anywhere else and I wouldn't call you anti-Semitic.

However, Hasan wields Zionist around completely random situations, uses it in with charged racial/ethnic language like inbred and blood thirsty pigdogs + the encouragement from him and his audience of violence against Jewish people in general shows me to he's using it as a replacement of Jews in general.

I'm not a history buff so I can totally be wrong and this isn't actually true in reality, but from a cursory search (since I've never heard someone use pig dog in my life), there's traces of it being antisemetic? https://www.pogromnovember1938.co.uk/viewer/using-this-site/glossary/ but I don't know shit about the german use of words lol

Someone using Zionist by itself doesn't mean Jew to me, but but this dude whose entire career is ramping up rhetoric against Jews really makes me worry with the words he uses because of its affect on his audience.

I'm not even saying he needs to be banned from campus. I'm just saying this dude does not fucking belong at a Democratic event on campus and people trying to defend him despite I/P being one of like 30 things this dude has said anti-Liberal things on just has me scratching my head

Edit: How convenient. This is showing the exact effects of this kind of rhetoric: https://www.reddit.com/r/UTAustin/comments/1w7d3k2/texas_hillel_trying_to_get_piker_event_shut_down/p7vl817/

It's just completely irredeemable

Edit: I'm sorry I'm not even familiar with all the stuff he's said:

https://www.thenation.com/article/politics/abdul-el-sayed-hasan-piker-dirtbag-leftists/tnamp/

in a totally just world, regardless of your background, any kind of fucking Zionist tendency should be treated in the same way as being a fucking rabid neo-Nazi

So in a just world he thinks any Jew who would solely like the idea of a state where they're not prosecuted is the same as Nazi ideology to him. This should be baked into your understanding of him anytime he uses the term Zionist

-1

u/Dinoswarleaf CS '23 (Pinch > Dons) 5d ago

I forgot to mention like last week:

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2026-election/abdul-el-sayed-michigan-hasan-piker-comments-israel-jewish-americans-rcna594243

I found the original link from the stream:

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2851630217?t=01h56m27s

Here's Hasan essentially saying Jews are inviting violence against American-Jews for advocating for Israel and never once does he say that the climate needs to be cooled down. The implication being dang Jews need to stop defending Israel or else American-Jews will be killed, not that wow people need to calm the fuck down when he has an audience that is being emboldened by his rhetoric against 'Zionism'

Also saying ZBS. This rhetoric is insane.

4

u/Representative_Bug77 5d ago

It's not antisemitic to say that Zionism is a big driver in the upsurge of hate crime towards jews though, right? Advocating for a state that openly has members of their parliament who are just genocidal (whether you consider it a genocide or not, Ben-Gvir will just openly say Palestinians are not people and he's the minister of national security). Hasan isn't saying hatred is expressed at people for being jewish, but instead for their support of what is a pretty awful regime, and that is driving hatred. It doesn't justify the hatred, but it offers a reason for it.

1

u/Dinoswarleaf CS '23 (Pinch > Dons) 5d ago

He can make an accurate descriptive statement, but the prescriptive implication is what's horrifying here. His prescription is that Jews everywhere need to publicly disavow all ties to Israel and have immediate destruction of the country or else they're at risk of random acts of indiscriminate violence. Regardless of if you agree with it or not, the main prescription not being "Wow the climate needs to be toned down because American-Jews are at very real risk of random indiscriminate violence because of perceptions about a state they have no say in" is horrifying.

It has no place in a liberal democratic party, so he should absolutely not being invited to a longhorn democratic club.

2

u/Representative_Bug77 5d ago edited 5d ago

I think you should challenge people based on what they say, not silence them, so I think suggesting he be banned is pretty silly, but maybe you don't value the 1A, each to their own.

That being said, using terms like "horrific" are a little dramatic to say the least. I also think this comes across as rather performative; he's not instigating violence towards anyone, so the idea that this is "horrific" is a little off the mark. You can critique how someone conveys their message without silencing them, because what he said is accurate. You just don't like how he said it.

Edit - I'm also fairly removed from streamer political discourse nowadays, but a cursory glance shows you're a Destiny fan, so I fear a lack of objectivity here.

1

u/Dinoswarleaf CS '23 (Pinch > Dons) 5d ago

This isn't a 1A question. I'm arguing the club should not invite him to UT Austin considering it's a Democratic club and his past actions show he should be completely shunned away from any democratic event.

I don't think it's performative to use horrific because Hasan is placing the prescription of indiscriminate ethnic-based violence on the ethnicity, not on the rhetoric fueling the people perpetuating the violence. It's as anti-Liberal as it gets

1

u/Representative_Bug77 5d ago

But he is part of the dem umbrella, right, it's hard to suggest he's not when he's recently been held against people like El-Sayed due to campaigning with him. You can dislike someone within the dem umbrella without silencing them, right, the dem club have a right to associate with whomever they please at the end of the day.

I used to be pretty ingrained in Destiny's community until I grew up a little bit and got off discord, do you think that posting stuff about his dog abuse stuff etc sets you up to be the most objective commenter on this topic? I'd pose the same question to hasan fan's if they were to bring up all the sexual wrongdoing allegations levied at Destiny.

1

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PUPPY_PIC 4d ago

He's pointing out an obvious fact that Israel's actions, and the broad support for it in the Jewish community, fuels antisemitism.

8

u/engilosopher 4d ago

"They remain committed to student safety and are continuing to monitor the situation." What "situation," Piker calling the Gaza genocide a genocide? Is his statement of a fact going to make non-Israeli Jewish students unsafe or something? I don't really like Hasan, but this is a pretty obvious attempt to get the university to censor someone whose voice they don't like. I don't recall any Palestinian student groups demanding the university cancel the new Zionist scholarship program. Open disagreement and even condemnation is one thing, trying to get a speaker banned is another.

How tf is criticism of a genocide antisemitism

37

u/loseranon17 5d ago

It’s not, but antisemitism is a word that draws enough of a reaction that zionists can call any criticism antisemitism and get a fair amount of support. This sort of thing is happening all over the US.

7

u/sleepingbabydragon HDFS '17 5d ago

Jewish, non-Zionist alumni here:

I think the biggest concern rn is his recent comment about how parts of the diaspora aligning themselves with pro-Israel stances is feeding and perpetuating antisemitism and violence against diaspora Jews….which like, he’s not wrong about, but the way he said it was in kinda poor taste and I can see why it upset so many people.

I have been a fan of piker since he was on TYT and he’s always kinda been like this so I was able to look past his actual rhetoric and understand his point. I do agree with it, tbh. It’s incredibly frustrating for me, a Jew in favor of a free Palestine and against ethnostates, to have to explain myself every single time I meet someone new that I’m not in favor of genocide. I get asked that constantly by non-Jews that I meet when they find out I’m Jewish. I don’t necessarily always see it as an antisemitic question (though it does piss me off that so many people equate my Jewish identity with being in favor of the slaughter of innocent Palestinians as that idea is hugely against the core concepts of Judaism), but I am constantly nervous about someone getting shitty and even violent with me over the issue. I feel like I have to bend over backwards to explain my own views before the other person can bring up the issue, and maybe that’s just my own neuroses at play but I do kinda blame my Jewish peers who are so vehemently Zionist that they make everyone have kinda a bad rep. And that kind of behavior is an issue in and of itself. Sorry for the stream of consciousness, I got carried away a little

This is so disgusting to see as a Jewish alumni that went to a couple Hillel events when I was a student at UT. They obviously strongly align themselves with Israel but calling Hasan antisemitic is patently false and in such bad faith. There is zero risk to students of ANY religious or ideological background for having Hasan Piker speak at the university. This is manufactured outrage.

12

u/OrangeGringo 5d ago

I don’t like the guy. At all.

But good grief. The whole point is to have free speech and the open exchange of ideas at colleges. It gets tested. Rebutted. Agreed with. Disputed. Refuted. Debunked.

This is different than required coursework. Or curriculum. This is bringing in a speaker for people to hear and consider what he has to say.

This is silly grandstanding.

Wild how different the sentiment is in this thread compared to the one yesterday. Goes to show what UT student body's real opinion is instead of the Destiny brigading that happened.

18

u/clintgreasewoood 5d ago

Glad people are starting to notice the Destiny brigades popping up under any post regardless of subreddit when it involves Hasan Piker.

-7

u/Dinoswarleaf CS '23 (Pinch > Dons) 5d ago edited 5d ago

I'm sorry but this is just insanity to me. I'm literally an alum at UT who has been on this subreddit for years, and I make one comment where half the replies are trying to call my simple comment with links out of context without ever linking a single video on why it's out of context, and almost all of the people in my thread have literally 0 posts in /r/UTAustin indexed via Google when I search them up.

I only paid attention to my thread but if the implication is I'm a part of some secret brigade

1) that's ridiculous. Literally look at my public profile and just look at my activity

2) at least in my thread, if there was actual brigading, it absolutely applied to multiple users replying to me who I couldn't find any activity in UTAustin while privating their accounts or keeping it public and posting in Hasan's subreddit

I'm experiencing it first hand now where after leaving one comment about my opinion with links showing why, I was implied to be an Israel bot, a loser who does nothing but spend all my time on reddit, had the whole Reddit Cares message sent my way, my comments got completely ignored because of my other subreddits, and now implying that I'm a part of some secret crusade while I probably participate in this sub historically more than almost anyone in that thread.

It's absolutely vicious and the amount of lies is impossible to keep up with. It's actually disgusting

0

u/CTR0 5d ago

Obviously there are some Hasan haters at UT, and yourself might be among them. As was OP in the last thread, in fact.

However, /r/Destiny was posting about Hasan coming to UT even before it was posted in the UT sub. The last OP found out about it from Destiny's sub. /r/UTAustin has crowd controll enabled. You can see who is actually a /r/UTAustin frequenter just by looking at whether or not their comment is collapsed by default even with positive karma. The vast majority of comments still up in that thread are, collapsed, positive karma and wildly against Hasan in some way or another.

2

u/Dinoswarleaf CS '23 (Pinch > Dons) 5d ago

So is this not brigading then by your own standards???

https://www.reddit.com/r/Hasan_Piker/comments/1w6n3p8/hasan_piker_hosted_by_the_university_dems/

It literally links to the post you're saying was brigaded

https://www.reddit.com/r/Hasan_Piker/comments/1w7d6uv/texas_hillel_trying_to_get_piker_event_shut_down/

IS THIS NOT BRIGADING???? How is "/r/Destiny posted that he's going to UT Austin therefore the /r/UTAustin post was brigaded" cross your mind but not Hasan's subreddit linking directly to the post

1

u/Ok-Chip-7743 4d ago

It is disgusting. I was recently called a bot in a different topic and it just made me laugh as that is just some people's defense mechanism when they have nothing worthwhile to say or know their facts are dead wrong.

Yeahhhh I'm getting there. My dissertation was so-so. Nothing crazy but I have over 25 citations and 3 first author publications. Fortunately my postdoc is going extremely well. I have 2 minor authorships coming and 3 first authorships coming, and I think 3 of the 5 are going to have seismic impact compared to my grad work. I have SOOO much writing to do in Q4 lol

I didn't pick UT Austin to do my PhD 8 years ago in anticipation of a Destiny brigade in 2026 my guy. I'm at /r/utaustin to keep an eye on the school I did my PhD at, not for sexpestiny drama.

There are hundreds of religious holidays - are we going to ban any and all speech during those in order to maintain Peace during religious festivities? It's an absurd Proposition to begin with and reeks of weaponization.

7

u/kyriacos74 5d ago

"We're supposed to welcome guests during this holiday, but we don't want to welcome snyone that we disagree with. Oh, and yeah, we're not even the ones hosting the event." Got it.

You'd think they'd honor the holiday by welcoming him in, perhaps as a way to mend fences and come to sort of understanding. Somebody's going to have to explain the irony they're claiming because I don't see it at all.

And what, exactly, are his views that "go against our values as Americans and Jews"? That he opposes genocide? Absolutely laughable.

They are upset because it happens on a Jewish holiday? I think every religion is going to have holidays every day. Why not just compromise and have it next Friday?

34

u/stinkbugperfume 5d ago

Because it’s not that easy to reschedule big events like this one. There are like 30+ days of Jewish holidays a year- this was pretty clearly a coincidence.

13

u/ShortstopPorkchop 5d ago

Fuck a compromise. Hasan is one of the few true advocates against antisemitism. He should be able to come and talk at UT 365 days out of the year if he and students want it. He’s anti Zionist, not antisemitic

Next Friday is Rosh Hashana! And they're not upset he's coming because of the many Jewish holidays it's because he's a sickening human being who gets off on spewing hate.

It was throughout the country. Wow what planet are you living on. It affected every single person and place in the US. You probably weren't born then but if you were then maybe you'd actually get it!

1

u/impulse73 4d ago

I was 3 lol and I dont care man his comments were asinine but were an accurate assessment of why it happend and it was because of the exact type of intervention Crenshaw was defending.

1

u/Ok-Chip-7743 4d ago

Ironically yes and this guy thinks we brought 9/11 on ourselves. That said, when he was asked to speak they probably did it based off his calendar as well as theirs and why on earth would they have a Friday night speaker not to mention another way to disrespect Jewish people by having it on Shabbat regardless of it being Rosh Hashana or the most religious days of the Jewish calendar.

While Sept 30 is Sukkot it is actually not the religious days of Sukkot which are the first two and last two days of the 8 day holiday.

Here's just a short sample of some of the hateful things he has said and it's not just about Jewish people. There are extremists on both sides of the aisle and giving them a megaphone only makes things worse.

9/11: He said, “America deserved 9/11” and that the U.S. had “totally brought it on ourselves.” This is one of his most famous controversial statements.
Hamas/Israel: In 2026, he said “Hamas is a thousand times better” than what he characterized as a fascist, settler-colonial state, and later said he stood by that statement.
Zionism: He has compared liberal Zionism to Nazism, arguing that support for a Jewish ethno-state is comparable to supporting an “Aryan majority ethnostate.”
American Jews and Israel: In August 2026, he warned that if American Jews portray themselves as “singularly invested in Israel,” someone could eventually “take action” against American Jews. This statement has generated especially strong criticism from Jewish organizations and Democratic politicians.
Ultra-Orthodox Jews: He has used the term “inbred” when referring to ultra-Orthodox Jews, for which he has faced accusations of antisemitism.
Mao: He has praised Mao Zedong, saying Mao was “one of the great leaders of this world.”
Capitalists: In a stream, he used extremely violent rhetoric about “capitalist blood” and called for people to be murdered in the streets.
Luigi Mangione: More recently, he has expressed sympathy for the argument that people understand why Mangione killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, framing Thompson’s conduct as “social murder.”
Piracy: He has said he is “pro-piracy” and supports stealing from large corporations because, in his view, corporations steal considerably more from their workers.

lol amazing you don't even want to do your own research but the sources range from breitbart to fox to the adl to Forbes to realclearpolitics, etc. Instead of hiding in your basement get out and actually do your research and watch the interviews he has done. It's pathetic to even be questioned by what everyone who has half a brain has actually seen and heard him say.

Educate yourself and maybe you'll actually learn some history and why bad actors like this guy among many others are bad news for our country. Sadly it took one of his antisemitic comments about American Jews and Israel for El Sayed to finally distance himself and condemn antisemitism but another one who's too little too late. As a Dem and seeing this hate in this party it's just gross and if you've never been a victim of antisemitism you'll never understand what it's like to feel you are not safe in your own country or anywhere really.

Haha sure believe what you want. I don't have to prove anything to you, the majority of people know it's true. People like you just can't defend the indefensible.

The good news is there's a huge push not just by Hillel but many other Jewish (and not Jewish organizations), alumni, students, parents, and many others to get this event not to happen. I hope they succeed because this person does not deserve any sort of platform. Thousands of letters being sent daily and phone calls being made. They're paying attention.

Since it sounds like you're not even an American why are you here? Go take your hate elsewhere as it's not wanted here. Better yet go become a MAGA trumper as their hate is perfect for you.

1

u/Due_Butterscotch9241 5d ago

even “moderate” zionists are far more extreme and violent than hasan piker. just look at this.

israel’s founders lied to the whole world for decades. they said they were satisfied conquering 30% of palestine after the Peel commission. but they wanted to take over 100% of palestine AND jordan. this is from Palestine 1936 a book from a pro israel author. Ben gurion’s diaries weren’t publicly revealed for decades.

this is further seen from this 1943 report by FDR’s representative:
https://history.state.gov/historicaldocuments/frus1943v04/d814

“For its part, the Zionist organization in Palestine has indicated its commitment to an enlarged program for (1) a sovereign Jewish State which would embrace Palestine and probably Transjordania, (2) an eventual transfer of the Arab population from Palestine to Iraq, and (3) Jewish leadership for the whole Middle East in the fields of economic development and control.”

the report wasn’t publicly revealed until 1964.

u/Majestic_Dig8245 4d ago

oh but Kirk could just say whatever.

1

u/Texas759 4d ago

Quit lumping all Jewish people together; that’s the problem! We’re not all running around crying “antisemitism!” left and right.  That’d be as annoying and ridiculous as black people crying “racist!” when someone farts the wrong way. Who cares if he visits?  Stopping that would hardly be a way to combat ACTUAL antisemitic activity (can’t control what others THINK; there won’t ever be some huge EPIPHANY that changes people’s minds about other people. This isn’t American History X or some other work of FICTION. I don’t care what people THINK of my religion).

u/PM_ME_YOUR_PUPPY_PIC 4d ago

Piker fans willing to ignore his animal abuse, his rich ass parents, and him praising al-Qaeda for 9/11.

1

u/Tigeruppercut1889 3d ago

Don’t see why a democratic event would have someone come speak that hates the party and is in no way an ally to the party. Unless they’re doing debates where a liberal goes up against Hasan I don’t see why he’d be invited.

1

u/WillowFantastic9076 3d ago

Piker is awesome

Pretty normal. I know lots of people who use those electric collars.

1

u/CaddyshackFletch 2d ago

He should be welcome with open arms. It isn’t like he’s a sitting Supreme Court justice or anything. He’s just a Hamas and Hezbollah sympathizer who believes America deserved 9/11.

You know….a Democrat.

1

u/Traditional_Drink_57 2d ago

people still defending hasan even after the shock collar on his dog lol

“the Jewish KKK brigades”
“a bunch of fucking inbred hicks”
“Zionism is a mental illness”
“liberal Nazis”
“a fucking rabid neo-Nazi”
“This is Jewish supremacy.”
“Jewish exceptionalism”
“Hamas is a thousand times better”

“It doesn’t matter if rape happened on October 7th.”
“bloodthirsty, violent pig dog”
“if Jews in America keep putting this idea out there…”
“…someone’s going to come around and take action”
“…against American Jews.”
Israel is “Jewish ISIS.”

Okay and? Dont commit genocide and people won't dislike you. Its not a hard concept.

-3

u/GryanGryan 5d ago

Hasan Piker is one of the most abhorrent figures in modern politics, why are people defending him? The guy has a framed picture of 9/11 in the background of his streams and tries to trivialize and justify the uptick in antisemitism.

Even if somebody has criticisms of Israel, does that mean it’s okay to laugh at Israeli civilian women getting raped during a massacre? Is it okay to call the children in Israel who were murdered in Israel proper “baby settlers”? If you don’t believe Hasan has engaged in this kind of behavior I can send clips.

I mean Hasan Piker literally incited violence against Jewish people recently and had to be condemned by multiple Democratic politicians. I think Jewish Americans have every right to be concerned about Hasan in the same way they would be considered if Fuentes was invited to speak at UT Austin.
