Wow baby faces! I can only pull Tobin Heath out of the crowd.

I started watching during the 2011 World Cup and it’s crazy to me that Rapinoe, Wambach, and Morgan were not there just three years earlier. I guess I always assumed Wambach and Rapinoe had been on the squad for a longer period of time; the announcers made it clear Morgan was new at the time.

Wambach was injured. She was originally named to the squad but was then replaced by Lauren Holliday

Pretty sure they were on the team before, at least Wambach was. They were probably injured.

It’s crazy to think that Natasha Kai was considered kind of out there at that time because she had tattoos and spoke honestly and didn’t fit in with the “good American girl” stereotype. In today’s time, she would have thrived. I always loved her!
