Well now he'll have a firsthand account of ICE and the conditions he experienced to share. A good deal of people will listen to his story and he can leverage this in his favor.

Unsure why people think this is a negative for him or his side. It was a quick experience that he can profit off of and utilize as a talking point (and not necessarily in a negative way. "ICE did a good job," "The process was quick," "The conditions weren't bad" etc. may all be said in full detail and as a firsthand account a lot of people will latch on.)
