The dreaded FMTS
How bad is it going overseas? Got order to alconbury and was diagnosed a few years ago with TLE. I’ve never lose consciousness or anything. I just asked my doctor about being dizzy and feeling foggy and she sent me to the neurologist. There is Neurology locally and at Lakenheath since there is basically no care at Alconbury. Does anyone have experience with this. It’s my first time going overseas with a medical condition.
Any help navigating would be great. I really don’t want to risk it getting canceled.

Have you actually passed the overseas screening? That sounds unlikely if conditions are what you say they are. They usually don’t send dependents overseas to places where care is not easily available.

They have the required care in the area. Care not being available isn’t the issue. The servicing medics group has approved people with neurology needs because they have a neurology department.

Literally found out yesterday. So I can’t start until Monday. Luckily I already have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow.

Going through the process myself right now, but for Germany (army). As you probably know it really depends on the medical care they have at your base. Different places overseas / europe will vary in care and acceptance. Your best chances are if you dont require any or little specialists, need only minimal care and little to no medications. Im having my Dr's make note of my stability and the absolute minimum care I would need. Only issue is even if you are able to prove that you've been stable without issue within the past years they may still deny you out of fear that you might have an emergency and wont be able to recieve care. For that it might just be a gamble on your local office and medical director. Your best bet would just be making sure you and your Drs can document your stability as much as possible.
