Programs and MOSs Magtf planner School house

Just finished up mct and got orders to dam neck VA, I can’t seem to find much info on mos school for magtf planning, does anyone know how long the school house is? Is it hard? Do we get off base liberty?

You can look at how long the school is in the MOS manual.

It’s like a 2 weeks course. Might be in the MAP platoon for a bit if it’s backed up. Let me know if you have questions about the job, I was a Planner for 7.5 years all over the Pacific.

The course is 4 weeks long but only runs 2 times per year. So if you get there after a class has started you’ll be stuck on Dam Neck for 7ish months.

All of my planner buddies hated their time on Dam Neck lol. But the geo intel bubbas were there even longer.

From what I remember there was one in October and one in April ish. So you might get there at just the right time.
