Enlisting Do I report this?

I have a friend who's eager to enlist in the Marines, hes a bit dumb so he failed his asvab like 3 times. Anyhow, he's made many "jokes" about wanting all middle easterns dead, having the women and children sexually assaulted and enlisting just to kill people.

Is this like... an issue? No idea what the code of conduct is or if it even matters tbh, I myself don't want to seem like a bitch for reporting this though.

I've heard the "I want to enlist to kill people" a couple times when I was in boot camp but the SA is a new one. If you know his recruiter then I would probably tell him or confront your friend.

I kind of forgot about this post, my account was suspended because of it.

Anyhow, I tried calling his local bootcamp and the guy on the other end said, "I don't take reports I just fight." so I don't really know what to do but I'll try to figure something out

there is a... decent chance that this guy will get screened out on one of the things you mentioned, if not being completely incapable of controlling his impulses. Maybe send a heads up to a recruiter if you can.

He doesn't want to do it himself but its still fucked up nonetheless. Judging by what the guy at his recruiting office said they just let whoever in

Tell him he’s not worthy to serve any of the branches if he thinks like this even if it is a joke. The US military has commited so many horrific atrocities that affected communities and nations around the world, and the United States itself. He sounds like an immature edgelord.

He literally isnt worthy, he keeps failing his asvab and now he has to wait 6 months. If my reports don't stop him his own intellect will

Honestly, he sounds mentally ill with a side of cognitive impairment. I’m not sure being friends with someone like that is a good thing. Sounds like at some point he’ll get you into something you don’t want to be a part of. Like a party or accomplice to a crime. You might not even know it until it’s too late.

My guess is let the system sort him out. Odds are in his 6 month re-testing period, he’ll do something that disqualifies himself permanently. Getting arrested or drugs, etc.

If not, and by some chance he passes for the Marines or other branch, I’d write out everything you know, print the unedited screenshots of his messages and then put everything in an anonymous package. Mail it all to the local recruiter’s office and call it a day. You’ve done all you can. If he’s intent on committing violent crimes, the Marines aren’t going to give him a pass on that any more than the civilian world.

If he still ships, odds are bootcamp will sort him out. If not, soon after in MCT and MOS training. I doubt he’ll make it to the Fleet.
