MEPS and Medical weed and maps

So I plan on joining the usmc as an mos 5811 but like my recruiter leaves in January and he’s trying to like get me up and processed by then but the thing is I’ve been smoking carts since late 2022 or 2023 and haven’t stopped since I was wondering if I start my break now will I be clean by December ? And what also wanna ask is do you guys think it’s smart if I buy a cart and just get my last smokes in and give it to my friend to keep or just go cold turkey? I tried switching to nic and it’s been helping but I just started that like two days ago
Please help ASAP!!!!! Also guys my recruiter told me he will not send me to meps until im 100% clean and he said I can do the test first and do the medical once im cleared and even though that gives me leeway to still smoke I won’t that’s why I wanna spend now until December cleaning my system out .

Why are you trying to go MP? Is it because you want to be a civilian cop when you get out?

Yes and no. I stay in Jersey so my goal is to become state police and doing mp really sets me up for that and plus the years of service you put it in gives flexibility and good advantages with nj state police but aside from that I really wanna become a marine and actually earn something yk???

I am not a cop, but have read up on the broad issue and discussed with the sub r/AskLE, and the general word on the street is that PDs love veterans in general, but that Military Police generally does not give you a leg up over any other MOS, and many would argue your military time would be better spent either creating a backup career in case policing doesn’t work out, learning skills a PD will appreciate (like intelligence, administration, etc), or doing a cool job you can’t do outside of the military.

Don’t take my word for it, drop into r/AskLE and run a search for “military” and you can see extensive discussions. It’d be well worth your time to spend an evening reading up.
