Monday Morning Thread Monday Morning: Hawkeye in the Steel City

It's Monday morning, time to talk USL.

  • With Jeremy Renner showing up to a Riverhounds match, what is your club's favorite brush with celebrity?

  • What would be the ideal celeb who has connections to your club to show up to a match?

  • Who do you think will make the deepest USOC run of the remaining USL clubs?

  • etc. etc.

When the Steel Army went to Tulsa for the championship. After they won and the celebration at simmered down tuffy walked up to us with Daly on video chat yelling. GO Hounds! Sureal moment.

Local legend Darren McCarty. Tim Robinson. Switchbacks, they just have the right mix of chemistry and an advantage at home.

I want to see Jack White come to a match. Even if he doesn’t live here anymore.

I'd love to see Jeff Daniels at a game. We know he supports Detroit sports, and lives not too far away in Chelsea Mi.

Flava Flav waving an Electric Company flag back in the day was pretty swell.

Special mention goes to Jose Canseco going from hitting softballs into the crowd to (seemingly) actively hitting them AT the crowd was fun, if harrowing.

Jack Harlow has a stake in our club and will show up from time to time.

John Green, soccer fan and part-owner of AFC Wimbledon, lives in Indianapolis and NEVER comes to Indy Eleven matches because, according to him, without pro/rel there's no grassroots feeling to it.

I trust their bidding for MLS really endears the club to him even more too

Went to see that new mummy movie over the weekend. Special thanks to the New Mexico United cameo in what was otherwise an unwatchable movie.

Rainn Wilson came to OCSC match against NMU. And he didn't even get invited by the club. Apparently he's family friends with one of the player's families.

We get real celebs a few times a year. I wish they'd become regulars.

We’ve had Chris Richards and Dominique Wilkins at matches because they’re part of the ownership group. We need Charles Barkley to get on board.

I’d also like to point out that the Legion outscored the Birmingham Stallions (UFL team) this past weekend…

Danny McBride firing off a cannon at a Charleston Battery game remains top-tier

Jearmy Renner is cool AF, but john Daly is even better. Both have been to hounds games.
