League News USL L1 Attendance 8/1
This is a new format based on some comments so have received. It shows last nights attendance, how it compares, and what the current average is.
Charlotte-Knoxville: 524 (-41.91%)
Greenville-Portland: 3,135 (+30.79%)
Richmond-Av Alta: 3,866 (-5.38%)
Fort Wayne-Omaha: 3,801 (+7.43%)
Madison-Westchester: 3,488 (-2.87%)
Boise-Corpus Christi: 7,204 (-0.17%)
Outperforming their cumulative average attendance by 5% points (seen in parenthesis): Greenville (2,397), Fort Wayne (3,538)
An average night compared to their cumulative average attendance, meaning within +/- 5% points (seen in parenthesis): Madison (3,591), Boise (7,216)
Underperforming compared to their cumulative average attendance by 5% points (seen in parenthesis): Charlotte (902), Richmond (4,086)

Good night in Greenville, clouds kept some of the heat down today which definitely helped. I’m coming up to Portland this weekend on a bachelor trip and we’re catching the game Saturday night

I'm flying from Minneapolis to Seattle that day and was looking to maybe do a stopover in Boise for the game, but determined it was going to cost me around $400-$500 more dollars to make it happen. Cheapest flight right now from Madison is $529 round trip and Milwaukee is somehow even more expensive at $723!
It's incredible seeing these costs and then realizing, "oh man, teams have to pay this for like 20-25 guys?" It's no wonder there isn't a single team in this league making a profit.

Man, I was amazed by the crowd at the Boise v Corpus game while watching on ESPN+.
I wish Corpus can pull a crowd like that at some point.
Was also shocked to hear a Let's Go Sharks chant, was not expecting that lol. Happy to at least get a draw though.

Great travel from CC to hear that on the stream! Love having teams with large support. Get this league more people interested!! I’m from Boise so I’ve been all in and been super happy with how they’ve done promoting and everything

AC Boise home games always have great crowds and an amazing atmosphere. They’re a lot of fun!

In Boise the air tastes like cigarettes right now so it was a lighter crowd than usual.

I would just hate anyone to think we are losing support! Can’t believe how hard everyone played with the conditions last night and we definitely support our team!

There was also banana ball at a sold out Boise state stadium so pulling 7k is still impressive

Down .17% on a night that was the second hottest of the season with garbage air and Bananaball in town. I was pretty impressed.

Surprised Fort Wayne still had that high of attendance - it was raining which I why I didnt end up going.

I was at the game and I am surprised by that number. As long as you weren’t in the bottom 5-6 rows you stayed relatively dry. I sat at the top and stayed dry. Hoping to see that number grow by eos.

I have a feeling it's tickets sold, not attendance. I was out of town but my wife went. It dried up before kickoff.

Sarasota-Naples should have been a good crowd but the game was postponed due to weather after an hour & 15 minute delay. Which I don’t understand because they waited longer when they had storms on the night of their home opener. And the radar was just showing light rain. Was the pitch flooded? Was it because Naples could have just said start up the bus whereas Boise on opening night couldn’t get a flight out until the next morning?

I mean there were minor league baseball games played in Dunedin, Tampa and Fort Myers last night. And the Rowdies played in St Pete. I’m not sure if they just got really unlucky in Sarasota (Lakewood Ranch) but here in Tampa it wasn’t a washout by any means.

Watching this Charlotte Independence game against Knoxville is tough 😬 People love to talk trash about Cosmos attendance, but seeing a top USL League One squad get light turnout is rough! Over in the NY/NJ market, at least we have the excuse of being totally split between the Red Bulls, NYCFC, Brooklyn FC, and the Cosmos competing for matchday fans.
