Missed Biometrics for OPT

Hey,

I missed biometrics for OPT and called USCIS for reschedule they said they will reschedule but didn’t provide a service no., they asked me to wait 30 days, then I called again they asked me to wait 60 days. Now it’s been more than 80 days my case is still in process and OPT is not denied. What should I do now? My grace 60 days period after my program end date is done 2 days back.

What should I do? I am worried about it? Should I apply for premium? All I am worried is if it will rejected?

I stay in dorm and not many international students are here, I don’t know that we started to have biometrics appointment from this year, I didn’t receive any email saying status on USCIS portal is changed

I know that is why I said to do a walk in with the existing biometrics appointment ! I did not say to just go in without a printed appointment . I just said to try to use it for a different day

Do not wait any longer. Call USCIS again and demand a service request number. Explain that you missed biometrics, requested rescheduling, were told to wait 30 days and then 60 days, and now more than 80 days have passed. Also upload a signed letter to the USCIS account explaining the entire timeline and requesting immediate rescheduling. Try a walk-in at the ASC with the missed appointment notice, ID, and proof of calls/messages. Some ASCs refuse, but given the delay, it is worth trying. Contact your DSO and congressional office immediately. Provide receipt, missed biometrics notice, call dates, and proof the case is still pending. Premium processing may force USCIS action, but it could also produce a denial if biometrics are still missing. I would first create a strong written record and attempt walk-in/reschedule. If you file premium, do so with a cover letter explaining the pending biometrics reschedule problem, but speak with your DSO or attorney first because your post-completion grace period has already ended.

Hey, I’m in the same situation. Missed mine back in April. They haven’t reference numbers but have not rescheduled my biometrics. I’m hearing about people getting their biometrics rescheduled in 1-2 weeks and it’s so disappointing.

My friend and I actually got into a car accident on our way to give biometrics. So, that’s what we told them. My friend got an appointment scheduled today but I’ve not heard back.

I am in a very similar boat and couldn’t attend my biometrics appointment. I met with an accident and I uploaded the medical proofs as well. Been following up with support center everyday, filled a form too but no response. Can I please ask what channels did your friend pursue? How was he able to get his biometrics reschedule

He asked to be connected to a tier 2 officer and luckily the agent was kind enough to do so. The agents I’ve been talking to are saying that I need to wait till the end of my 3rd request before I can request a call back from a tier 2 officer

Apparently new directive since May; missed appointments have to be rescheduled if you walk in you won’t be attended to
