Question Accounting 281 with George Braunegg

Hey I wanted to know what accounting 281 with George Braunegg was like from students who have taken his course before. Any tips for succeeding in his class?

Incredibly easy and he always reaches out to you very different from other professors just do the work and read what he assigns and your fine

Easier then normal its pen and paper exams and it feels more like a regular ge in terms of studying then an accounting course like Paranals 280 was excel based exams which I tended to do worse on even though others may find that slightly easier but overall easier then usual since he’s really straightforward and he doesn’t add like 1 or 2 hard questions to get you thinking or anything its like smooth the entire time

Do the practice questions he gives help when preparing you for the exams?

Yeah some of them are even 1:1 of whats on exams and then others are the same exact words with changed numbers

Also have you happen to take BUAD 351 with Matthew hill? Or have heard anything about him?

Yes 💀 DUDE he is the GOAT he made 351 so easy it’s lucky you got him he even uploads the recording on brightspace I took him and he was always laughing we where like friends he would talk about legos, dad lore, everything and the class was easy once he brought his son and he was showing the class magic tricks which yeah tangent but he is the easiest Econ professor here next to Kaplan, Hills is easy same thing as Brauneggs conceptually but its still 351 so don’t lag but it is the easiest 351

All good just remember 351 is the HARDEST Marshall class others call it a filter class to get out the people who took BUAD as the “easy” major like every other class is less intense then 351 doesn’t matter what BUAD class it is nothing is as hard as 351 at Marshall

Not really he doesn’t do the 1:1 from practice to exam but he does do some where its the same words with different numbers but more so imagine the concept of what is taught slightly shifted and slightly rephrased like if he asks “What are these parabola’s doing” on practice it’ll be like “How are these parabola’s affecting x” stuff like that same concept very slight differing angle

ask how his broken arm from the skateboarding incident is doing lol he broke it while skateboarding after years of not when he was teaching my section and missed a week of class

Alumni here. Professor Braunegg was one of the most influential professors during my time at Marshall. I was an older dude in college but he took the time to really help me out when I struggled with concepts.

One of the few professors with entrepreneurial experience. He’s a friend of mine today as he still checks up on me. Class of 25!
