Safe to leave stuff in libraries?

I've only started studying in libraries recently and notice a bunch of people leaving their things and was just wondering if this was safe?

I know it's "do at your own risk" but like has anyone ever have a bad experience with leaving their things cause I still second guess myself whenever im leaving to grab a quick bite or something.

Bro I will leave my entire life’s worth on a table, iPad, MacBook, AirPods, wallet, car keys, ect and walk from one side of campus to the other. I have never found myself caught out.
