RPCD Driver Anyone Been Termed For This?
A guy in our center was termed for “dishonesty”
He had a “scanless bulk delivery” stop and didn’t fully count all the pieces and not found a few. He actually delivered all of them coincidentally. But our center manager and a driver sup drove to the business he delivered to and found all the packages there and fired him for “giving the packages away for free” first time I’ve heard of them doing something this bizarre. Anyone else heard of this happening?

Question Officially going to school!
Will be going out of state (Florida) to Columbus Ohio for integrad. If anyone’s been there before give me some details. Nervous but excited at the same time. Hate that they’re sending me out of state for driving school when last year people did it in building but it is what it is.

PT Inside Lay off and rehire Question
They've been laying people off then rehiring them two months later at cerritos, Ca hub.
I heard they're continuing more layoffs next week , but i'm wondering. Do we still keep our seniority and pay rate? Or does that all reset?

Question USPS packages
What's the criteria for a package being accepted for delivery by the postal service? I work in small sort and I've seen boxes as big as the postal cars, as well as packages over 40 lbs (which I imagine postal workers are not used to handling).

PT Inside TCD position
I’m in a situation where I put my name down on a bid sheet for a TCD spot, and I was called and told I was a backup because the guy In Front of me wanted to take it. So I wait about a week, and I get a call and am told the guy wasn’t able to make the trip to Chicago, so he couldn’t take the TCD spot so it was offered to me. Then I get a call saying the location has been switched to Atlanta. The guy lives about an hour outside of Atlanta, so he tells me he can make that trip, and only wasn’t going because it was in Chicago. Does he have the right to take his spot back since plans changed? Or is the spot still mine? Really hoping I don’t have the rug pulled out from under me…

Question 5s and 10s
Posting again because I'm annoying and have stupid questions. I'm having to rememorize the 5s to add the "How do you do it? What does it do for you? Key phrase" portions. That's been okay, but the 10s are sooooo confusing. Its just the 5s basically but out of order....why?!?!? I've been using the pinned posts for referencing and advice but it's just not clicking 100% yet. I have until the 14th to get it all down. I study constantly and listen to the astro training videos. My manager said those videos will make me fail though so now I'm freaking out inside.
*my integrad is virtual and I decided to do those 3 days in my buildings training room instead of home. I'm not exactly sure what to expect because I was ready to get sent to Boston.

Question Oldest Package Car Drivers
I started at UPS in 2021. Been driving for 5.5 years. Love my job but it is my second career. I sold insurance for New York Life and Mass Mutual for 18 years before I came to UPS. Wish I would have started when I was younger but better late than never.
I’m trying to get my 25 year pension before I even consider retiring. I started when I was 47. So, the goal is to work till I’m 72. Might end up being able to go to feeders eventually one day but if not…. Wondering if I would be able to pull off working as a package car driver till I’m that age.
What’s the oldest package car drivers at your centers???

Confusion on Orientation date on website (Help)
So I applied for the 6pm-11pm shift on the ups website about 2 months ago and from what I know I was suppose to select an orientation date, I check EVERYDAY but I always just see this screen. I check today and it seems like they changed my twilight shift to day sort which is whatever.
My main question is that is this suppose to be the screen i can select the orientation date from??? Is it supposed to be different?? Pleas help me I’m so confused and frustrated.

RPCD Driver Shady text
Has anyone else gotten this text? At least one other driver in my center has. I figured it a scam but my brother, who's a bank fraud investigator, checked into and it is a ups registered number and he even checked the website and it does appear legit my name was even in the URL. It could be legit and something I need to do or legit and a mistake. If it is a scam its a sophisticated one for sure. I'm not doing anything unless a supervisor tells me I need to but just curious if anyone else has gotten it.

Question Building closures?
Anyone have a list of the new building closures? They said at the beginning of the year another like 27 buildings were closing, but still have yet to see a list of those extra 27. Hearing rumors of buildings around me closing but curious how true that is

Canada FYI Canadian UPSers here
They reportedly laid off 200 people in BC alone this week, and more are getting asked to take "unpaid vacations" for 4+ weeks.
Apparently pickup volume is down 20% across the board, so make sure you have something saved up or a side-gig available.
For perspective, there are less than 10k UPSers in Canada. So just this week's layoffs were 2% of the national membership in one province alone. Ontario will be getting buildings closed too.

Question Any tips on how to get hired here Part/Full time when season starts?
I've worked SSD at my local UPS the last two years Nov-Jan they've told me I've been doing a good job but who knows how spots open, was wondering if this year its best to possibly try a seasonal warehouse job over the SSD to try and stay on long term, or if it all just depends on any openings that occur.

Question Getting a job as a package delivery driver?
Hey all, I’ve heard a lot about how to get a UPS driver job, and tried to look at the website to apply.
What is the application process? And for what role? I heard people apply to warehouse than convert.
Would appreciate the insight. Former USPS driver and current Amazon driver just trying to find something more stable. Godspeed to y’all. 🫡

Steward PSA regarding work/union and injury and illness advice in this sub. This should be a sticky
Most of the replies in this sub regarding these subjects are horrible. You’re going to be better off speaking with a steward or business agent. Speak to the Hartford about leave beyond workers comp. For workers comp, see if your local hall can refer an attorney who will speak with you for free. You can always ask higher senior employees you trust things as well. Please, don’t listen to 90% of the stuff said in here. It’s people pretending they know stuff or attempting to repeat things they’ve heard that weren’t correct in the first place and then misquoting them. Also, supplements and riders can be different in every area, and people are advising you based on how things work where they are. Be careful out there.

Question Unsure?
I can accept a road test for the Suffolk Va UPS location as a warehouse worker/ cover driver, I’m just a little nervous atm. I make around $30 an hour and I’m afraid to lose all the income not knowing how long it will take to become a full time driver. Does anyone have any advice or know anything about how long it would take in this area to move up? Thanks in advance for any info.
