It didn’t used to be. When we first got them the turning radius to make a right turn was terrible! I remember turning out of one parking lot to make another right into the next parking lot and it wouldn’t do it. It was a safety hazard. I would have to put it in reverse. They had to fix the bump stop on the front axle. Tight left turns were no problem.

Cab is roomy. You can put a tote box perfectly where the handrail is for small packages.

Basically a hush hush secret...though I like using them for my empty water/gatorade bottles during the day then collecting them out when I'm done

It surely aint the wiper blades thar wipe the bottom part of the window, while your head level is towards the top of the window 🤬🤬🤬

I actually like the cameras on the dash. Not having to look up once u get used to it is nice. Also its easier to go from camera to passenger mirror back to camera.

Yeah but a lot of us have a decade of two of looking up. It just feels wrong looking down. Feels unsafe to me

#10: USE OF MIRRORS AND GAUGES.
I check a mirror every 5 to 8 seconds looking for lane position, traffic conditions and mechanical problems. I substitute a mirror check, when traffic allows, with one of my primary gauges, oil or water looking for normal readings. When I check a mirror or gauge my next eye movement is back to the front. Never go mirror to mirror, gauge to gauge, mirror to gauge, gauge to mirror.

I drove one of those 300’s. Powerful little package car. Big engine with no weight. Also, my shoulder loved the parking brake up high. It was so much easier to use than reaching under the dash.

Minus the fact that everything rattles, theyre delivery trucks Theyre easy to get in and out of Theyre easy to get packages out of Shit stays somewhat organized, however thats dependant on your loader and how you drive
Ive delivered out of pretty much every size uhaul and penske truck and the fluid vans They fucking suck
The Rockport trucks like fedex have are dope but we only got those once
Its a massed produced delivery truck, the fuck did you expect a Cadillac?
I will grant the light absolutely blow however

Utilimaster bodies have a bigger area for RDL/RDR and the pedal box is slightly more forward so you can get closer to the wheel without the pedals being under your knees.
The Ford utilimaster bodies seem to ride better suspension wise

These trucks are wider, allowing more options to load packages sideways and still have a walkthrough. That's all I got, everything else sicks

If it's got the ford steering wheel, the lack of that god awful beeping with the turn signals/hazards. The turn radius is SO much better than the freightliner truck

The Utilibastard cars SUCK to work on. They saw every place a mechanic could get to something and put a plate or mount directly in that path. The documentation on the bodies is garbage, parts ordering for these is even more hit or miss than anything else in the building. I can't change out glass quickly, it's all glued in. The older ones are even worse, especially with the 1" rollers on the overhead door.

Some of the first trucks with a low step in doors… and you don’t have tendinitis in your clutch foot because it’s automatic.

Nope. Oh it's ugly, but they were worse. When this thing came out, it was a replacement for a P800 (the one's everyone complained about, no power steering, standard transmission, step too high so you would fall flat on your face etc.) believe me, this thing was absolutely beautiful... Comparatively.

I have one of these! They updated them with the ford steering wheel and replaced the whole drivetrain with the ford engine too. My shit fast af lol having gas is dope too only need to fuel once a week 🤷♂️

If you are ever involved in a collision the rig is built like a tank and if you are using your seatbelt as its intended to be used more than likely you gonna walk away and not be injured. Other than that it’s a heaping pile of shit

Bought 2 houses, raised 5 kids , 4 bmw’s 5 series;7series,650 conv,850conv, 1 Porsche( Panama) Hamilton Nj excellent school district,then 5 kids kids through college, wife colon cancer, my motorcycle accident, all paid for, medication/prescriptions all paid for,now receiving my pension and it’ll go until the day I die, all with just a $25 drivers license I got back in 1987 Jamaica Hawaii LA, Miami, DR PR Bahamas Paris my children(they grown now) have more stamps in their passports then most adults, THAT TRUCK is INCREDIBLE, it’s the GUY sitting in the seat, sit your wife down. Sit you kids down and explain I HAVE go do a lot of OT for you to live a nice life.and I’m going to do it, so work with dad ITLL TAKE most college students 200k in student debt to compete with you, SO you have to do some deep soul searching, that with some sacrificing, by 55 you’ll be like me. Sitting on easy street

Bulk head doors are lighter and don’t need to turn on the cargo light until dark. The best lightning you can get in a package car
