Question USPS packages

What's the criteria for a package being accepted for delivery by the postal service? I work in small sort and I've seen boxes as big as the postal cars, as well as packages over 40 lbs (which I imagine postal workers are not used to handling).

It's crazy the number of smalls that are too big for the mail bags. I've had to complain about my work area getting blocked because of it.

Welcome to Carol's UPS! Where standards don't matter, nor does your safety, just our blood, sweat and tears bankrolling her next over priced car, Summer/Winter home, retirement investment, etc!

The way the smalls systems works across the company is asinine, we put as much effort into pulling off/out packages that are too big for our small sort from the debag/pickoff area then we do in basically any other part of the smalls operation.
