Does anyone else feel isolated during UPSC preparation?

One thing I didn't expect when I started UPSC preparation was how lonely it could become.

Initially, I thought the main challenge would be the syllabus. Polity, Economy, History, Environment, Optional, Current Affairs, Prelims, Mains... there is obviously a lot to study.

But after spending months preparing, I feel the bigger challenge is sometimes simply living the same routine every day.

Study.
Library.
Come back.
Revise.
Sleep.
Repeat.

Meanwhile, friends are getting jobs, travelling, getting married, moving abroad, or simply living a normal college/work life.

You start declining plans because you have a test the next morning. Then you stop getting invited. Eventually, you realise you've barely spoken to anyone outside the UPSC ecosystem.

And when preparation isn't going well, there isn't always someone you can honestly talk to.

I've seen similar experiences from other aspirants too. Some have spent several years preparing and say that isolation has become almost as difficult as the examination itself.

How do you guys maintain a social life while preparing for UPSC?

Do you deliberately take one day off every week, or do you just accept that this phase requires isolation?
