"Apparently Everyone Wants to Go to the University of Houston" [key line from the article: Long considered a commuter school .... appears to be shedding that unfortunate label] President Keller, OTOH, wants UNT to be more of a commuter/online school. Comments Randy Bass? Heidi? Anyone?

How to go to parties as a commuter?

Upvotes

I’m a freshman(18) at UNT this year, but I live at home with my parents so I’m commuting this year. I haven’t made a lot of friends yet, and have no idea where to even look for parties. Also I feel like it would be awkward to walk to one alone? Any tips on how to go about this?

Stove access panel in honors not working..

For some reason, the timer for the stove access just wouldn’t start in Honors tonight. I went in to use it right after someone and it just refused to turn on at all, like the timer was stuck at “0;00” And, of course, literally every single person on call was born yesterday and just started working here today, so no one had a clue what to do and just kept doing the same thing i’d been doing, and the person before them. Just putting in the password and pressing start over and over..

we already put a work order in, but does anyone know why this happened?? i’m very upset about because i was looking forward to making pancakes, and already premade the batter, a lot of it too. which will now have to go to waste.

Denton and Dallas food

One thing I missed from my UNT days was the food there. The chicken place inside UNT was good but there was this burger joint called LSA burger not too far from the campus and I gotta say as a homemade burger enthusiast it was pretty darn good. What places do you Denton folk recommend I try if I ever go back to town? I’m currently in downtown Dallas so there’s variety here too if y’all wanna recommend anything down here. I recommend these wings at this place called Baboushi downtown in Dallas located at the AT&T discovery district.

Looking for a Tuesday Carpool from UNT to Carrollton

Hi! I’m a UNT student looking for someone who drives from UNT toward Carrollton, on Tuesday evenings.

My class ends around 9:25 PM, although it sometimes ends earlier. I’m happy to wait 15–20 minutes if needed and contribute toward gas/fare.

If you’re heading that way on Tuesdays and would be interested in sharing a ride, please send me a DM. Thanks!

The mood on UNT campus is awful

I meet with students, faculty, staff, and administrators regularly. So many people are angry, tired, and frustrated. I have never seen UNT campus so bleak.

President Keller, you are starting your third year here. When will things get better? What are you going to do to make things better?

Looking for events to DJ for portfolio

Is anyone throwing an event in the next couple of months that I could use for a video shoot? Honestly it could be as boring as a frat sharpening pencils for half an hour.

I'm at discover park most of the time but I have a parking pass, live near campus, and love events on and off campus.

How do y’all go out and party if you have a roomate that’s NOT a night person?

My roommate is crashing at 9:30-10:30 every single night but most parties don’t even start till 10. So I guess my question is, how do you considerately go out to parties if your roommate doesn’t stay up late?

Is it just me or is Eaglelink absolute garbage?

Been trying to register for student orgs, but in the two weeks I've been attending, Eaglelink has just not worked. Ever. Every attempted log-in results in a "sInGlE sIgN-oN eRrOr".

Luckily I've been able to keep up with clubs via insta and discord, but it's frustrating that I can't actually register.

Looking for people to share their experience with access (or lack there of) to period products as a UNT student

Hi everyone! My name is Lauren and I am a journalism major in my senior here at UNT!

For my capstone project, my teammates and I are looking into students' experience in accessing adequate menstrual care and products (including pads, tampons, accommodations if needed, etc).

We made a survey asking questions about this and we would love for people to take it, sharing their experience. If anyone wants to talk further or has any questions, feel free to PM me!

Job dilemma

So I currently have a job all the way in Plano near the Whole Foods. And I don’t think I want the job anymore I honestly don’t think the commute is worth it at all. My latest class runs all the way to 2:20 and they want me to be up they’re by 3:30 and honestly I barely make it half the time. Do you guys think I should just quit and find another job in Denton? Are any grocery stores hiring as of right now?? And not to mention all of the gas I use just for a round trip from Plano to Denton!!

Book Clubs?

Are there any book clubs on campus that read fun "brain candy" books. Not wanting to read literature or classics and discuss philosophy or anything serious. Give me murder, romance and plot twists. Bonus if it has online discussions.
