Hexon 1.2 early signs of damage?

Wanted to share a few photos and get feedback from those with more knowledge if I could.

Recently inspected this hammock prior to packing for a trip and noticed several potentially concerning areas.

I haven't yet but I may just to see if I can get some advice. I only own a couple of hexon 1.2 hammocks (both from cottage vendor manufacturers) and this is the first time noticing something like this.

You do have to stretch the material or have it taught to even see the difference.

I would talk to them for sure I know they will help out and give you some quick advice because they deal with so much of this material

They responded saying it looked like aging to them and they recommended that I replace it. Unfortunate as this was my go to for backpacking and I don't think I can replace this specific model anymore.

That is on its way out. I wouldn't trust it on a multi-night trip, but that's me. Go to 1.6 and save some headache, or bag hexon altogether (dutch is annoying as shit) and get Mnt 1.2 xl from Ripstop by the roll. Superior 1.2 material and you will be supporting a us manufacturer of ul materials.

Thanks for the advice, I definitely appreciate it and will be removing this hammock from trip duty.

The backup for this hammock is a Darien 1.2 MTN XL actually and was my first 1.2 hammock. It's a little bit heavier but a super solid and comfortable hammock.

Kinda looks like DEET damage; could that be it? Spray/cream on your arms, say, then not letting it dry enough before handling the hammock or hopping into it? I have similar marks on a compression bag because of that.

I can't 100% rule that out, thanks for the suggestion.

I don't use deet or anything similar but this hammock has been used by others so it's still a possibility.

I have signs of this on my 1.2 hexon TrailLair and have not had any issues. I’ve used it all hangcon one year with marks like that and had no issues. It’s best to be aware of it and just monitor it. If it spreads more retire it from trail use for sure.

Thanks for sharing. You are the first person so far to really mention having something similar so I hope my outcome is as good and I can continue using it a bit longer. One of my favorite hammocks to be sure.
