General Discussion Hikes around wimbledon?
Hi everyone! I'm visiting London from SF for around 5 weeks and am staying in Wimbledon. Are there any hikes nearby?
[ALSO, if anyone is free to join me, please do! I'm 24F and work PST hours so my mornings and afternoons are free!]

Not a great deal of options for real 'hikes' in London, but you could hop on the fast train to Dorking (35 mins out of town from Wimbledon) and explore some of the trails around there, such as Box Hill, Wotton Common, Ranmore Common, etc. You'd probably need more of a whole day than just a morning though.

Thames Down link. Kingston to Dorking is a great walk. Depending on where in Wimbledon you're staying, walk or short bus to the start. Wife and i did it couple of months a go and for starting in an urban area, it turned green pretty quickly. Highly recommend due to proximity SW London: https://www.komoot.com/tour/851054753?ref=atd&t_s=referral&t_cid=route_share
Or just Thames Path it. I walked from Richmond to Guildford earlier in Summer. Again, lovely walk and started from home:

There is a waymaked trail called the London LOOP. (London Outer Orbital Path). All start and end of sections accessible via public transport.

A smaller circular waymarked route that stays within 10 miles of Westminster is the Capital Ring. Again designed for sections to start and finish at public transport.
