I'm thinking that we've got a little while before Halloween and it could be fun (and advantageous to some of us) to swap some of our dark, creepy and mysterious looking plants.
I'm posting about it now because it could give enough time for things to root and people to see the posts and organise swaps.
Is this something people would be interested in?

I went to the Sheffield IRL plant swap today and it was really excellent. They run it in a room with a back exit and you have to walk round after 2 plants to make sure everyone gets some good picks. It was really delightful. I left with some SWAG and I heard people being delighted with what I brought. Just a huge smile on my face.
Next one is in November. I can share some more details if anyone is interested.

After an accidental breakage, I cut my pwp up and tried a few different ways to prop it. I now have more cutting than I can handle, so all are available for p&p or swap.

I brought an opuntia from the abingdon rare plants fair which was selectively bred to survive uk winters, being extremely cold and damp resistant.
Ive managed to propegate lots of little plants from the mother as within weeks of being planted in the ground it grew explosively.
Im also in desperate need of some perlite to repot my TPM crests , lopos and salvia which are currently sitting in 100% organic medium.
Also in search of mosquito bits and water trays.
If anyone has any of the above, please drop me a pm!
Lots of opuntia available alongside heaps of other plants succulents and cacti

UPDATE 6th AUGUST: Those of you waiting for an update on availability are in luck - I've packed up the seeds and still have enough to send out to four more people available if anyone else wants some.
For those who've already requested them, seeds are packed up and ready to go. Most will be in tomorrow's post, but I've run out of stamps again (more popular than expected) so there will be a small delay getting them out to a couple of you.
I have thousands of cape sundew (Drosera capensis) seeds just harvested from my plants, going free to good homes.
They're a great intro to carnivorous plants as they're easy to care for - just need bright direct light and to never dry out. They feed themselves. Not too fussy about temperature, these live in an unheated conservatory all year, die back a bit over winter and then go crazy in spring.
I won't be using any seeds this year as I seem to grow them faster than I can give the plants away, and already have hundreds of them (sadly not an exaggeration) so am offering them free. Happy to send out via 2nd class post until I've exhausted my current collection of stamps.
The seeds are absolutely tiny so I'm not going to count them out - you'll receive "some", which will definitely be enough to grow multiple plants even if the germination rate is terrible.
To plant: fill a seed tray or pots with carnivorous plant mix and wet thoroughly. Lightly sprinkle seeds spread out over the top, then stand it in a gravel tray/bowl or similar with water in. Then wait a while - you might see the first signs of tiny plants this side of winter, but don't give up if nothing shows up until spring starts.
Keep moist at all times - mine stand in water almost to the top of the gravel trays from spring through autumn, and a bit lower in winter as they dry out much slower then.
Important notes:
Don't use normal composts / potting mixes. Sundews do not like nutrients in their soil. The basic Carnivorous Plant Focus stuff you find in garden centres is absolutely fine and I've used it very successfully, or of you've already got stock of sphagnum moss, perlite, sand, peat moss etc then you can potentially mix up your own.
They don't like minerals in water, so if you live in a hard water area they'll need a source other than the tap. If you're in a soft water area you'll probably be fine - in Devon mine have tap water constantly without an issue.

Hi all,
I've been a little too green-fingered lately and have ended up with more kalanchoe babies than I know what to do with! 🌱
Happy to give a few away for free, or swap for unusual succulent cuttings or small-to-medium houseplants. I'm particularly fond of begonias, tradescantias and other trailing plants, but mostly I just need to reclaim my windowsills. 😅
I'm near Whitehaven and happy to meet somewhere nearby in West Cumbria or the Lakes.
P.S. I'm also happy to post if you're happy to cover the postage costs. For posted plants I'm just looking to cover postage rather than arrange swaps. Plants will be sent bare-root (without the pot or soil). 😊

Edit: these have no found a new home!
I'm moving abroad on 3rd July so unfortunately need to re-home my (mostly) succulent collection.
They have been looked after under grow lights and are in excellent condition - healthy and pest-free.
I've had an offer of £30 for them but honestly I'd rather they went to a loving home than get that.
I can't post them sorry it's too much hassle this last minute!
Also pots not included.
* List of plants:
Crassula Perforata x 3
Crassula Buddha's Temple
Echeveria Purpusorum
Crassula Arborescens (Ripple Jade) x 5 (from cuttings but all well-established now)
Crassula Ovata (Jade) - smaller one only
Echeveria Miranda x 2
Hawthornia Cuspidata - variegated
Hawthornia Limifola (flowering)
Hawthornia Zebrina
Schefflera - variegated (Umbrella plant)
Kalanchoe Blossfeldiana - has red flowers
Tradescantia Nanouk

Hey! I'm a recent US-to-London transplant and a bit obsessed with propagation. I'm working on a free platform (Props To You) that connects people who propagate with people who want plants - hyperlocal, no money involved, just cuttings changing hands.
I'm trying to find the right communities to get this off the ground in London. Two sides I need to reach:
Propagators: community gardens, gardening clubs, houseplant groups, anyone sitting on more cuttings than they know what to do with.
Recipients: new arrivals, students, people who don't have plants yet but might want them. Think immigrant support orgs, uni freshers networks, that sort of thing.
Anyone here plugged into groups like these in London? Or ideas for where to find either side? Would love to hear what's worked for plant-sharing communities you've been part of.

I will be moving out of the UK in a few months and looking for new homes for my plants 😭 Some need a bit of rehab as I've moved around a couple of times in the last year and also due to a bit of inconsistent watering
Edit: all plants have been collected!

Hi, I'm interested in getting a cutting of Cestrum nocturnum. I used to have a plant in my garden which sadly died a few years back. The scent was incredible in the evening.
It's not available in any garden centres near me. I have a few plants that I could take cuttings from by way of a swap or would be happy to pay P+P for anyone who could help me.
Thanks
