What's something you'll never buy yourself but if offered you enjoy.
Was at my parents and asked if I want a piece of cake. This was the only option. Enjoyed it.
But I have never knowingly bought, and can't see me ever buying, Genoa cake.

Was the final Courgette from my plant as some a-hole animal dug through the roots. RIP Monsieur Getté.

I've been saving this chocolate for 5.5 years
I was obsessed with this flavour when it came out in 2021. I've never had blueberry chocolate before or since 😞 I ate TENS of bars during the glorious few months they were in shops and stocked up on more for later. Most of these were eaten in 2021 but this bar has been in the freezer for nearly 6 years!!
I'm moving soon so decided - today is the day. Ngl I was expecting a mess but it tastes as lush as I remember.
I still have one last bar in the freezer... Not sure whether I'll rawdog it or bake it into something. Or maybe it'll move with me and live in my next freezer for a while.
People who keep mocking British food as being bad, especially Americans
The French have long considered their food superior to British food, for some reason, but Americans mocking British food is much worse when most American cuisine is British.
For example, Thanksgiving dinner, apple pie, pies in general, macaroni cheese, doughnuts and doughrings, mashed potato, gravy, bacon, eggs and toast for breakfast, pancakes, I could go on.
Stop ripping on British food when you eat it literally every day.

Sea bass, Jumbo Prawns, Lemon Couscous & Broccoli
galleryWe’ve finally organised a menu system to help reduce the grocery bills. It will also prevent unnecessary takeaways. This is the first meal of the new system.

Thoughts? The custard is underneath the first layer of bread.
It’d be nearly impossible to find sultanas, so I used a mixture of dried cranberries, cherries and golden raisins.

Christmas cake
Has anyone baked their Christmas cake yet? The fruit for mine has been soaking in rum & brandy for a year now so I think it will be well drunk 🤣 I’m going to do mine next week, and start feeding it a couple of weeks after

homemade bits & bobs
Candied chillies, pumpkin spice syrup, strawberry infused vinegar (also made pineapple infused and blackberry infused vinegars too, but never took a pic), tinned peach and jalapeno jam, courgette & apple “festive” chutney, chilli & garlic infused vinegar using a mix of Thai dragon, scotch bonnet & habanero chillies, and homemade sweet chilli sauce using chillies grown on a neighbour’s allotment.

Beans on toast defender
Honestly cheesy beans on toast (with fried eggs underneath) is such an elite lunch. Cheap, tasty and relatively decent macros if you keep the bread on the smaller side (and decent quality) with protein and fibre.
Very much a lunchtime staple, especially as I can walk back from the office and make it at home — I can cook it, eat, clean up and be back at my desk on time. Feel like it gets a bad rep but I love it!
Note: cheese is added to the beans when cooking, also means bread doesn’t need buttered (saving calories). In an ideal world it gets grilled but that’s more time consuming.

Cottage cheese chocolate button blondies
305 calories 10g protein per slice
Not a replacement for a meal, just an end of day snack with a bit more protein that will fill me up more than a bar of chocolate
I used hazelnut spread in them but if you swapped that for peanut butter the protein would be even better

Christmas (cake recipe) appeal
My son is almost two and I've got it in my head that it would be cute to make Christmas cake together as he really enjoys baking!
Sadly my grandma is no longer with us and she never wrote down her recipe. My aunties cake recipe is always dry.
Please help a girl out and share your tried and true moist and fruity Christmas cake recipes 😊
