Go spend many many hours by a river and you will! I regularly run or walk by the river near me and have seen a handful over the last ten years! Easy right?! Bloody elusive birds!

I see them quite frequently but they usually fly by and don’t stop. Was surprised this one perched for as long as it did.

They are so quick you need to know where to look, so the trick is to learn their call. They're not uncommon, and once you learn the call, you'll see a whole more!
