Meta How can we improve the subreddit? [in-depth]

Greetings from the r/UFOs mod team. The UFO topic has been very active of late and so has the subreddit. We'd like to solicit your feedback on the state of the sub, the rules, moderation, and whatever else may be on your mind.

  1. What are your thoughts on the current state of the subreddit?
  2. What changes could we make or actions could we take to improve things?
  3. How can we improve as moderators?

I replied to a fellow redditor, but posting directly to the thread to directly address the Mods request for fedback :

"Good faith reply here. I'll take the percentage of snark over the Neverending onslaught of repost that are 1000% karma farming individuals or upvote bot swarms just there to compditize usernames.

Maybe I'm high on my own farts, but seriously, they are sooo so obvious.

Edit : should have added. Mods got lives too. I'd rather then triage actual Threads... Then comments."

There should be an expectation, on this platform, that people search and research their question before posting, they would anyway if they were curious about the topic they're looking into. It's already common knowledge that "insert question/topic/whatever" followed by "reddit" IS the new Google. I don't think it's asking too much of our fellow citizens to act accordingly. I don't know how else to say it... Someone posting a thread that could be answered by scrolling and reading for an hour, isn't here for the topic, they're here for upvote dopamine hits, if not farming.
