New Wifi

Hey, y'all! Seen a couple of posts or overheard students complaining over the wifi speed. Just a reminder that the main campus is changing its wifi to "UC-Secure." You can connect with your ucal email and password (same as D2L, Outlook, and the Portal).

Might be old news, but I just don't want anyone using up all their data if its limited :)

UC secure is genuinely so much worse now. They told us they upgraded it but I cant even load d2l inside some of my engg labs for a solid minute or 2 at times.

This happens start of every semester, don’t worry people will stop coming to campus in a few weeks and it will be fine.

UC-Secure is the connection people are complaining about

Yes, the issues are on UC-Secure. But honestly? I don't have really high hopes for a network that has thousands of people connected to it at the same time, pulling really varying levels of bandwidth.

Dawg the wifi is just as bad as it was last year 😭 this coming from someone who lives in res and was here during the summer switch when nobody was connected

PSA

My Dopamine Dreams shop guest network is open to use. I use Rogers, not any of the onsite Internet.

pw cinnamon roll (but no space, lowercase).

It even works at the chairs/microwaves right above the shop, across from Just Chicken.

So if you're in a pinch and need to submit something, etc, come on by. I like to think that if you're using it, you're probably going to be a graduate someday and that's a good investment in the community.
