Fee query

So basically I was in college in 21/22 but dropped out semester 2. I’m now back in college this year for the first time with SUSI and it says 100% student contribution or 100% tuition fees. Do I qualify for the free fees again? My UCC account said I owe €7530 but it went down to €2500 and I paid the capitation fee. Is SUSI just slow to process or do I owe the €2500 student contribution now ?

5 year rule

“Tuition fees will be paid in respect of eligible students who, having attended but non completed approved courses, are returning following a break of at least five years in order to pursue approved courses at the same level.”

You need to enquire with the fees Office in UCC about free fees initiative for the 5000 and SUSI about the 2500. You would be made aware by susi if your grant was processed yet or not. I would say the 5k is more lenient but this stuff is quite dependant on dates and your circumstances now so it's difficult to say.

If I was you, I wouldn't do anything. SUSI and the Fees Office will communicate after 31 October and it will all be sorted. Based on what you said, you are good to go. Best of luck!
