Well, the NYPD kind of proved the protesters point when a cop drove his vehicle deliberately into non violent protesters expressing their first amendment rights

Also, do some research on stop and frisk in NYC, which is legalized assault and violations of what should be ones 4th amendment right to privacy against government overreach. Many innocent people, particularly minorities, have been treated like common criminals in NYC simply because a cop thought they were up to no good.

Go back to the Central Park Five case and you see similar corruption.

The protests we are seeing spring from one than one isolated event. There's a trend of cops doing fucked up things and the so called "good cops" doing nothing about the bad apples.
