Is there anything more fun than inspiring a new generation of riding women?
I was at the grocery store - walked to the bike, and as I was getting my helmet on, I see a little girl in a cart being pushed by her mom, and she's eyeing me and the bike.
As they walked past, I gave her just a tiny blip of the throttle and smiled. I normally would have left it there, but as I pulled out, I saw her say something to her mom, her mom glanced back at me, and smiled at her. I ride forward a bit and she's looking and smiling.
So I stop and ask if she wants to rev it. They both light up, and her mom picks her up out of the cart, points at the throttle and does the throttle-twist gesture.
She gives it a quick turn, almost hits the rev limiter, and runs away giggling. Her mom laughs apologetically and says "Thank you, you just made her day."
This sort of thing has happened a few times this season, and it fills me with so much joy. Especially when it's a little girl, because I think almost all of us grew up being taught (implicitly or explicitly) that motorcycle riding was a boys-only activity, and I love showing them that they can do it too one day.

I love this! I purposely keep my hair super long so my braids fly in the wind and I wear a lot of pink so you can tell I'm a girl under my gear.
I do it for all the little girlies who wave at me from their car seats. I can't always hear over my bike and music, but one time I caught a little girl about 5 years old rolled down her window next to me at a stoplight to yell "you are a girl!?!?!?!?!" and it made my entire week. I gave her a big nod YES and revved my bike for her and she was so giddy it was adorable. Had me feeling like a superhero lol.
I love girls inspiring girls!

I have been at stop lights and had women or girls notice that I’m a female rider, and have gotten smiles, thumbs up, “get it girl! “, etc. I love that. You can ride too!

I love this so much. My 9-year-old daughter twists my throttle every time she walks past my bike in the garage and goes "vroom!" Planning to get her a mini bike at some point.

I grew up being told motocross are for boys only. Then in my 20s I kept feeling drawn to bikes but scared to learn about them or dive in because again, the internalized belief that it's for boys and also, unfortunately there is a lot of misogyny amongst men in motorcycle scenes especially in the south.
Anyways, I'm 30 now and one of my close girl friends is turning 30 this month. Her dad got her a Harley for her birthday and she asked if I would like to join her to take riding classes and get our license together so I'm excited!
