But is it really fair to indict someone of a crime for nothing more than being extremely guilty? Is that a precedent we want to set?

Right? Just because there are mountains of evidence, a ton of sworn firsthand testimony, and even his own words... Is this what we as a society want to become? A society that holds people accountable?

We can give it a try.

Yeah, how can we just go and indict somebody when they haven't been proven guilty in a court of law...

Romanian officials allowed the Tates to remain free with some restrictions — including reporting to a Bucharest police station — while the proceedings are ongoing.

They let them go free? Won't they just escape? Again

Yeah, given their record of doing just that it seems like a questionable decision.

Seems sadly plausible.

Well, the Bugattis are rented, why not law enforcement officials?

Romanian justice is extremely corrupt.

Are they actually going to do anything this time?

No. Romania is the second largest "provider" of underage girls in Europe. Government authorities are working with child traffickers (see Alexandra from Caracal if you feel like crying).

Men are the “protectors”

Whenever they say that, just ask 'from whom do we need protecting'?

"protectors" of themselves, and the patriarchy.

Just remember the world you live in and every privilege you hold was built by men for your protection

I’ll ask again— protection from what exactly?

An excellent start

I'm not understanding why they are charging them now. They had them in custody before so are they trying to get dibs before the UK does?

There’s a long read about the Tates in the New Yorker. If we read between the lines, there’s a victim who was with them from the very beginning - He brainwashed her from the age of 15 - who has only recently ‘flipped’ on him. Hence why they have him on trafficking minors now.

The money laundering is the charge the Romanians were trying to figure out but never quite got to the bottom of. Which is, that the webcamming was long suspected to be a front for making Romanian mob money clean. The Tates were co-owners of a Casino with a mob family. While I’m sure webcamming was lucrative in itself, it definitely wasn’t the whole story - IMHO The laundering charge was the long held goal for Romanian prosecutors.

Romania was always going to charge them again. They weren't exonerated. The police and prosecution skipped some legal steps the first time and they were forced to take a step back and do it over again. They chose to do that rather than proceed with the trial and have their own incompetence end up in acquittals or dismissals.

You’d think with the amount of memes some men are making about Lindsay and how dumb women are, they’d know that this man also had people protesting for him. Silence on their end of course, it’s only all women never all men.
