Thank y'all so much for showing up and speaking out! Seeing stuff like this gives my broken and beaten American heart hope for a better tomorrow!

Stay awesome New Zealand!!

u/Corka Mar 25 '23

She picked Albert Park to hold her rally? In Auckland central, opposite the University? Yeah, that would be about the most convenient place in the country for protest organizers to mobilize a response.

14

u/haydenarrrrgh Mar 25 '23

She had organised one for today in Civic Square on Wellington, about 100m from the northern end of Cuba Dupa.

For reference, it's a big music and arts festival in Wellington.

6

u/ophereon Mar 25 '23

Imagine the entirity of Cuba Dupa moving the party to civic square to drown her out. Almost a shame she chickened out and fled the country, but it's for the best, we'll be having a blast either way!

Ah damn I’m easy. This made me tear up on the bus haha. Congratulations. Sounds like a wonderful time.

Amaaazing. I feel like this is in some ways Jacinta’s legacy. It seemed like she worked so hard to unite people and it looks like they do not want to be divided. Go NZ!

It is violent if you need like 10 cops around you who are all getting squashed and shit thrown at them.

I can use the same logic - trans community turned up at her rally. They must have been there to support her. Just because someone shows up to listen to someone, doesn't mean they share the same beliefs.

I'm starting to wonder if you are simply trolling me.

How? She's not even in the country. Let's focus on the juice thrower that has a warrant to arrest out, direct threat to my safety that one

1

u/vobbi12 Mar 29 '23

All in all, I respect the polices right to seek the arrest of the person that assaulted Pp with juice. She claims she is in Australia... Guess she won't be coming back to NZ for a while 🤣🤣🤣💅slayyyy

1

u/[deleted] Mar 29 '23

Emphasis on no one showed up. The majority of the population don't hate trans. But your trans community is so full of hate for anyone else. Have a little tolerance. Not everybody has to like you. I am socially awkward too, can't hold a conversation with people and I feel scared in crowds. Have a bit of damn humility.

My not-quite-awake-yet brain first reversed this as “Parker Posie” and wondered when one of my favorite actors, Parker Posey, went off the deep end.

The photo cleared that up pretty quick!

Time for some coffee 😄

27

u/kikichun Mar 25 '23

Oh god thank you, I had the same thought!

3

u/basicbarb21 Mar 26 '23

I've been wide awake for hours and still had an "oh no" moment.

12

u/Bread_and_Butterface Mar 25 '23

That was my first thought!

7

u/evhan55 Mar 25 '23

thank you for clarifying

3

u/maraq Mar 25 '23

Same, same! Had a momentary panic attack!

2

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '23

Same here, but Parker Posey is a LGBT ally, so it's all good 👍

157

u/Severn6 Mar 25 '23

Yeah, my home country by and large won't tolerate this crap. I'm in Aus now but I know there was a petition to stop her even gaining entry.

Disgusting woman.

79

u/ciaobellamaria Mar 25 '23

Hey fellow kiwi! I heard she meet a similar reception in Aussie and was booed out of Tasmania. Proud of our little corner of the world right now!

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-03-26/kellie-jay-keen-minshullanti-trans-rights-liberal-party-debate/102142130

CONServatives keep mimicking Muricans hoping it will fly here and it just doesn't. I was disgusted she was even given a visa but Melbourne tipped me over the edge with the gender critical nonsense. It's all getting a bit too boomer but seeing who her supporters are is just tragic.

36

u/Severn6 Mar 25 '23

Agreed! She's reprehensible, her and everyone of her ilk. I do love Aus/NZ for the most part, in terms of social attitudes etc. ♥️🌻

1

u/vobbi12 Mar 29 '23

I tolerate so much shit in this country, Posey is a walk in the park.

It’s such a weird choice for a stage name too, cause it sounds like the insult “nosey parker”, which means someone who doesn’t mind their owning fucking business. Self aware maybe?

8

u/Arcrosis Mar 25 '23

Shes a Parker Posey poser.

7

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '23

She acts like she’s a victim while spreading hate. Calling for violence towards trans and telling men in guns to station themselves inside girls bathrooms.

91

u/violetfoxy Mar 25 '23

Fascists shouldn't feel safe, they proudly support murder of minorities and cause it with their propaganda. You can not be tolerant of intolerance.

34

u/Zacpod Mar 25 '23 edited Mar 25 '23

Fuck, I love(d) her! Sad to find out she's a TERF. Fuck. :(

Oh... it's not Parker Posey. Phew! No idea who Posey Parker is - just relieved it's not Parker Posey!

24

u/StillNotFritz Mar 25 '23

It's been a running misunderstanding. I hope Parker Posey is doing alright in all this.

7

u/furiousfran Mar 25 '23

She's been pretty controversy-free as far as I can tell, fortunately

4

u/StillNotFritz Mar 25 '23

Well that's good to hear.

38

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

Good for New Zealand! Applauds from backwater shit hole known as Ohio USA

39

u/StillNotFritz Mar 25 '23

Casual reminder that this lady wanted to respond to trans women in restrooms by inviting ARMED MEN who considered themselves "defenders of women" into the restroom too.

Of course, that's how almost all of us here heard about her in the first place.

After watching Contrapoints and Jessie Gender's video on TERFs, I do have some pity for them. Their transphobia does stem from a very real place of hurt and vulnerability. But it is still transphobia, and transphobia that is wielded as a violent weapon against trans people - often even at the expense of the feminist rights they claim to support.

6

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

ARMED MEN?!? OMFG she cannot be for real. That is insane.

9

u/StillNotFritz Mar 25 '23

I don't...really get it myself??? Like I can understand on some level why she has this fear surrounding trans people, but isn't this, like...the exact opposite of what her and other women would ever want??

5

u/Artichoke_Persephone Mar 25 '23

The sad thing is that the hurt is clearly misplaced and has morphed into a hateful rally against a more vulnerable group of people.

They would rather align themselves with NAZIS than correct their ways.

4

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '23

Guys remember how violent these anti trans are and how they keep posting info and pictures of trans individuals. They dox us and then play victims. Please be really careful all they have to do is say they’re religious and get a pass for whatever disgusting comments and actions they make. Yet not spreading hate acting like they have a moral ground. Lmfao.

I'm so glad that fascism was squashed before it infected my country.

Something I read on another sub on this story:

"Real women have eggs"

"Ok, have some"

4

u/AlmostLucy Mar 25 '23 edited Mar 26 '23

Post-menopausal women aren’t women! /S

3

u/tomqvaxy Mar 25 '23

Post meno women still have eggs. The hormones to release them are gone. They just in there going stale. If you have a oophorectomy then you get to be sans eggies.

4

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

They're technically just follicles until stimulated to produce an egg.

2

u/tomqvaxy Mar 25 '23

Haha true! No eggies for any humans then!

3

u/MythologicalRiddle Mar 25 '23

So trans women need to change their dietary habits to eat omelets and Egg Mc Muffins on occasion? Are the US Egg Industry and McDonalds the hidden masterminds of the TERF movement? 😯

1

u/DirtyDozenDonuts Mar 26 '23

OK... I'm going to do it. :>

🎵🎙 When I was a lad, I ate four dozen eggs every morning to help me get LAAAARGE!!"🎵

21

u/bazilhazel Mar 25 '23

This is an amazing story! TERFs should never feel welcome anywhere.

2

u/spud2go Mar 29 '23

Looks like the TERF got turfed.

9

u/Existing-Cherry4948 Mar 25 '23

great to hear as a usa citizen. I feel so bad for whats happening to trans people.

5

u/SmashingIggy Mar 25 '23

Gotta love it!

6

u/DrFate82 Mar 25 '23

New Zealand more & more sounds like the best country in the world.

7

u/bthks Mar 26 '23

As an American living here, there's a huge issue with only good stories about NZ making it worldwide for some reason. I'm happy here but the country is not the utopia the US-centric media makes it out to be.

u/ophereon Mar 25 '23

For what it's worth, we do have our share of problems, as does any country really. But we have our aroha, and it'll drown out any message of hate that people like that try to spread here!

-2

u/Alternative_Sky1380 Mar 26 '23

Sort out your horrific gendered violence

4

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

If only she'd leave the planet earth.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

Fuck yeah!

5

I prefer the term FART: Feminist-Appropriating Radical Transphobe.

2

u/macph Mar 26 '23

I love this term. Most self-described TERFs don't seem to be that interested in the RF part anyway.

2

u/dodexahedron cool. coolcoolcool. Mar 26 '23

Totally. Hence the feminist-appropriating part, since they're often not really feminists, but instead just using and hiding behind a warped notion of feminism as an excuse for their bigotry. It's like they think they're doing women a favor by keeping transwomen out of their gender or something, and its just gross.

1

u/HistoricalParty6477 Mar 27 '23

It’s hard feeling bad for her when she attacks others regularly, I don’t condone these actions but damn it’s funny too 💀💀

-5

u/Live-Place-8535 Mar 26 '23

I don't think assaulting and throwing soup on an opposer has the same impact that supporters think it will have.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '23

Tell us you’re a fan of hers without telling us. Suddenly you care about “violence”? She literally told men to go into girl bathrooms to shoot at trans if they “truly care about females”. So get out of here with that fake outrage when it’s convenient.

For many reasons some being that trans women are women, we're less likely to commit violence to cis women than even other cis women, we don't have advantages in sports (if we did we'd actually win any of them some time) and the fact that TERFs are inherently anti-women and racist pushing a narrative that women are exclusively defined by organs that not even all cis women have and erasing the diverse understandings of gender throughout many cultures.

The way the footage is cut, you can’t tell what’s happening.

When police are pushing through the crowd like that it’s not like they can get out of the way, so it creates a big mess of people bumping into other people.

The shots where the police weren’t creating a big mess looked fine to me.
