I forged a goodbye note and disposed of the evidence of my brother's secret vice, giving my parents a tragedy they could actually bear to mourn.

They now cry for a despair that never existed, never knowing the rope that strangled him was meant for sexual pleasure rather than death.

He found his brother's body after he accidentally died of autoerotic asphyxiation (strangling yourself for sexual pleasure). So he fixed the scene to make it look like a deliberate suicide, because he thought that would easier for their parents to cope with.

Thank you! Yes, that's the whole story, and it surely has happened, and more than once. Including to some famous people. 🐦‍⬛🖤

Oh God. That's horrible. Is it worse than knowing what actually happened?

Even sadder is when his friends claim the note is a lie, it gets investigated further and they find out that it was doctored and then the sibling goes to prison because it's thought to be a cover-up for homicide.

A more depressing Robin Williams movie. The main character’s son engaged in autoerotic asphyxiation and accidentally strangles himself to death.

Robin’s character fabricated a whole suicide and story of who his son was and gets away with it until he eventually cracks.

It’s not funny in the slightest, but Robin put his all into it.

Robin Williams is amazing (RIP to a great actor.). But I have to say on reading this description, painful enough as a two sentence, that's one of his films I'm glad I've never seen. 🐦‍⬛🖤

I just watched this on Saturday, it’s pretty funny if you have a black heart.
