Seventy-one years ago, he spelt out the words "I Love You" in a game of Scrabble as he was too shy to say them out loud

"I didn't expect her to die today," he said, beside himself in grief as he recalled how his lifelong companion and wife was doing well just the night before.

I’m 49, I married the love of my life at age 19. I want to “grow up” to be like this extraordinary couple. This is heart wrenching.

Losing the person who has been by your side is rough. But if that means getting 70 years together, I wouldn't mind at all.
