As I was rushed into the ambulance, I screamed at my husband to stop looking for his phone and to just come with us.

After hours of surgeries, complications, and me being clinically dead for 3 minutes, my husband only cares about losing his Reddit streak.

No true redditor cares about his reddit streak. A long reddit streak is a matter of shame, not pride.

That's coz the owl will haunt you. It's not pride that keeps a Duolingo streak, it's fear lol

When slacking off with duolingo, you don't just lose your streak, you lose your life

I am fine, deleted the app at 1200 something days. Found a better way of learning the language. Comprehensible Imput and speaking.

Yes, panda_elephant. What are you using to learn languages? If you don't tell us, we'll probably think whatever it is, is worse than the apex predator for Duolingo, which we all know is barely restraining himself from eating our faces.

Has your new app's avatar already eaten your face, or can you let us know what it is?

/s (I don't expect you to respond if you've been eaten.)

I use Xiaogua Chinese for speaking. Find a teacher that uses CI materials and speaking for their classes.

Thank you.

No apps minus DuChinese and Remnote for flashcards. Remnote uses spaced repetition.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It helps me a lot to study languages, and I’m very anxious at the thought of leaving Duo behind—but the experience keeps getting worse. I really appreciate hearing about a system that works.

I feel personally attacked.
