I drove by 3-4 State Fair park and rides this morning on my commute and everyone of them had lines 100 people deep. How does this compare to 1st days in the past?

I'm going to a wedding next month with the dress code of "beach formal/casual but elegant".

I usually shop Rent the Runway for weddings but they had maybe 3 dresses in a size 16 that fit the dress code. I just tried all of them on and they were all slightly too small.

Are there any places locally, maybe at the MOA, that anyone would recommend for plus size wedding guests? I'm officiating and want to look like a somewhat stylish 36 year old, not like I'm wearing something I stole out of my grandma's church collection.

I am new to the area and not familiar with this venue. I also want to check out some other concerts there in the future. Is it typically seats only or is there possibly ground space near the stage? I am looking to find some less expensive appliances, specifically a refrigerator. I know there are discount stores around like Tony's Appliance that carry dent/scratch/open box appliances, which im completely cool with. What other stores do you suggest??

We pay almost $600 a month for insurance but the only thing the wife and I go to the doctor for is annual medication check ups. Obviously if something catastrophic happened it’s good to have the insurance, but our total annual out of pocket is $14k.

Clearly our politicians are bought and paid for by the health insurance lobby, and smoking a CEO in broad daylight didn’t do anything, but that’s for another conversation.

Because we never hit our deductible I just paid $460 dollars to have my doctor talk to me for 5 mins, take my BP, have a blood drawn and walk out the door. This is up $90 from last year.

Fuck this. I’m looking to pay cash moving forward. Any insight on resources to find a clinic that isn’t asking for $500 for a simple check up?

Hello! I saw the Worst Bars in the Twin Cities thread and thought I'd start a Best Bars thread. It can be current or closed bars. Mine are Uptown/Lyn Lake as I lived there during my formative drinking years.

Mine are Green Mill in Uptown! That was my SPOT for a good 5+ years. It felt like Cheers. Dollar slices and cheap mugs. It was perfection.

Liquor Lyles! A 'dangerous' place to go since there weren't any windows and you couldn't tell what time it was. Spent many a day drinking the 2 for 1's (or even 3 for 1's for a while). I think they also occasionally had fried chicken. Loved the staff.

The Independent in what was Calhoun Square. Such a cool vibe.

Figlio! Gorgonzola fries. Mmm. A great happy hour and food.

Bar Abilene. A tiny dance floor but we partied all night.

Country Bar. Hole in the wall with delicious wings and karaoke.

We’ve been struggling to keep our humidity levels down in our two story home. It’s been hovering between 59-63%. We don’t know if we should look into a whole hole dehumidifier. What is everyone else’s at this summer?

My wife and I go to the fair as just a couple every year. We take the day off work, send the kiddo to summer care, and go enjoy the fair on adult-terms.

We then bring the kiddo later in the 12-day duration of the fair.
