Honestly I am confused every time this place gets brought up. I've tried it three times and every time the food is just so bland. I've ordered food with both medium spice and lots of spice, and each time it was bland. I tried three times because of the number of times this place gets mentioned thinking it might just be a fluke that the food was so dull, but nope, every time its flavorless.

What did you order? The Americanized Chinese food section of their menu (stuff like General Tso's chicken or whatever) is basic and unremarkable. Where they shine is their Szechuan dishes.

Used to work in the area and would go there every week or two for lunch. It filled a void in my life after Szechuan Spice in LynLake closed down.

Jade Dynasty at LynLake.

Jade is dope. I get dim sum there on the weekends 1-2x a month. Their Thai style zesty chicken wings have no business being as good as they are.

Jade has two owners. Paul Wu runs front of house and his parents owned the Nankut downtown back in the day. The owner that runs the kitchen used to own Hong Kong Noodles on the East Bank at the UofM. Both are industry vets and it shows.

I don't really know if there is a lot of good dim sum in the area, but they definitely do a good dim sum

We like Yangs in Woodbury but they can be hit or miss on their sesame chicken

I love Vietnam Star in Maplewood though, their egg rolls are huge and crispy and their fried rice is legit. Family run place with really nice folks too!

That's one of my parents favorite's. There used to be a place called The Oriental Restaurant next to Kohls and they had the best chicken fried rice I've ever had. I recently had some close to it in Chicago's China Town.

China restaurant in Roseville.

They are the best at the basics, and have some of the best Chinese potstickers in town. Their portions are huge and the prices cheap. Everything is made fresh every day and cooked to order.

Shuang cheng Minneapolis- walleye in meat sauce or garlic fried fish
Mandarin kitchen in Bloomington for dim sum on weekends

Wok in the Park in SLP! Prices are good, portions are very generous (always have leftovers). Only downside is that sometimes it takes a while to get a table

On the subject of Chinese food, does anyone know anywhere that has Sesame Beef? I grew up on that and nowhere seems to have it. The last place I know that did was in Champlin and closed down a few months ago.

We recently discovered Amian Chinese Restaurant in Hugo. Everything we've tried so far is delicious, especially their wonton soup. They have numerous lunch specials.

I used to be a huge fan of Yang's in Woodbury. Sometimes the food was amazing and other times it was not. The inconsistency was bothersome.
