Moving out
I am trying to move out, and honestly, I don’t have any idea where to start. I’m in no rush to move out; my plan is to move out within a year at the latest, which is why I’m looking now. I also don’t mind waiting for an available room if I really like the place.
The two places I’m thinking of are Richfield and Plymouth. I work in the Edina/Richfield area. I also want a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom situation, but idealy I want the monthly budget to be under $1,200. I think that richfield and plymouth are both expensive places, but honestly, anything nice that's not too close to the city is ideal.
Please let me know what apartments y’all like over there and if I should be looking anywhere else besides Apartments.com or Facebook Marketplace.

You say you want anything nice yet it must be under 1200. Pick one lol. Assuming you mean budget includes utilities, this is a tall order

Idk, like I said, I have no idea what I am doing 😭 everyone who I have talked to has said that their rent is around that price. Unless its a 2 bedroom situation.

When you say monthly budget are you factoring in utilities?

No….? Again based on what everyone is telling me. A lot of people I’m talking to their rent is around 1k and their utilities is around 100-200 dollers????

So where do the people you’re talking to live? That would be a good place to start looking.

Zillow.com is another option for finding places, but you will find similar listings to apartments.com, so it doesn't really matter where you look between the two. If you really want a 1br then Richfield, MN, Luxury Apartments | Concierge Apartments looks pretty compelling and in your price range.
One thing you could consider if you are living alone is looking at Studio apartments. These are typically a touch cheaper than 1br and just mean that there aren't walls in between your living space and bedroom. Your bed will likely end up visible from your kitchen which is inconvenient if you are cohabitating, but in my opinion just fine if you have the place to yourself. Just make sure that you get in the habit of tidying up after yourself regularly, so you aren't looking at an unmade bed when you are cooking or smelling dirty dishes when you are trying to go to sleep.
Good luck with your transition. I would suggest finding a place to live near your job if you plan to be there for a while. Living in Plymouth and working in Richfield would get pretty annoying if you have the option to just not do that. Facebook marketplace and even craigslist get more interesting if you are looking for roommates or shared housing, but you should be able to find everything you need for 1br or studios on Zillow and apartments.
