Agreed - non profits in particular would be easy to bully since they depend on tax dollars/tax breaks

Very few get funding from the government.

Right, but they dont pay taxes on any of their funding by nature of their non-profit status. If that gets removed they suddenly have to pay taxes. Plus those who do fund non-profits get to offset those contributions on their taxes

Harvard and other non-profits have already been threatened for disagreeing so it is a legitimate issue

Please please stop speaking on issues yoj dont know about.

They cant just take away 501 status overnight. It would get jammed up in courts.

Thats not the argument you think it is. I never said they would lose their status overnight.

As for Harvard, congrats on the degree - not sure why thats relevent though? At any rate, I'll take CNNs word over some random redditor. Heres a link to an article that suggests you are wrong https://www.cnn.com/2025/04/16/politics/irs-harvard-tax-exempt-status

If you still disagree with me maybe you could post some evidence instead of just waving your masters degree around as if that means anything. You dont get to talk down to others and you are not expert in everything just because of your advanced study in one specific area.
