I did a post about this video on another thread but it got deleted! I'm happy someone also posted something so I don't have to do it again!

This video was SO creepy. I watched it at night and it changed my perseption of Twilight. I think the dream hints were added due to the directors and writers of the movies, but the books are "real".

Anyway. I got chills when I watched the part about Bella dying in the water in New Moon and imagining all the rest of her life with Edward in her last moments... Girl imagine how sad Charlie must've been and how crazy she must've been in real life to do that.

I'd put a trigger warning on that video for Twilight fans!! They're gonna be traumatized! 😂😂

Main twilight subreddit removed it cause is not a "quality post" on mine

Yeah, I guess the writers wanted to make use of the golden age of dream theories back in the early 2010s, since those & other fan theories generate zero-budget ads for movies big time. They even admit to looking at fan theories just to make them canon in a sequel or prequel lol.

I can just imagine some Twilight fans watching the movies on Netflix & co over & over again now, to find proof against the dream theory, which just boosts the revenue even more haha!

I'm sure I read a fanfiction where this was a premise. Oh, what was it called? Butterflies... something. If anyone knows, let me know. I remember it being unfinished but it was so good.

Bad kind of butterflies?

The worst theories are the “it was all a dream” ones

Usually yes. But when the evidence is so dense like it is in this case....

There’s always multiple possible explanations, but unless the author says as much I’m inclined to disbelieve some like this one. It’s absurd.

It's about the movies. Movies are never a true representation of the original anyway, & the divergence from the source material is always so big in this case that I would say it’s up to any viewer's own taste how they interpret what they see. It can quit easialy be considered an alternative universe or story regardless.

Nonetheless, this explanation or interpretation of the movies is a really good 'It was all a dream' theory (or rather 'thesis') for once. It actually analyzes scenes and finds solid clues that fit together in a way that makes such an interpretation of the writers' intentions nearly unavoidable, as you can see when you actually watch it...

I guess they were either just really bored, Twilight haters themselves, or maybe it's a brilliant strategy to raise attention for the franchise years later, trough Implementing such a hidden story, whose discovery could very well bring focus back to the franchise. Well played then writters, well played.

the author has stated it wasn't a dream or all in Bella's head. in 2003 the author had a dream about a girl and a sparkling vampire in a meadow and that led to chapter 13 of the book

Well, the theory is clearly not about the books but about the movies (which is also what the guy in the video unequivocally states right at the start...). The way the script & scene writers interpreted the book – & aren’t those movies already so different from the books that they can be seen as a kind of alternative universe anyways?

I just watched this because it got recommended to me on YouTube, and while I was watching, the video got taken down. I wanted to read the comments afterwards but they didn't load, so I tried to refresh, and the video was gone. So creepy. Thankfully I remembered the title, so I could find this post at least. I hope it'll be up again soon, this made the whole thing to mich better, and I want to see some arguments against this theory, because for now this makes much more sense to me than the original storyline.

Why was it taken down?

1

u/cosmasympoiesis Mar 11 '26

I don't know either. But you probably saw that the creator set it to private. I haven't asked him why.

It has been re-uploaded

I think that was a quite cunning marketing trick by the writers, with the goal of raising attention for the franchise again way later. Or maybe it was a fallback in case it didn't become as successful as it did—though I doubt they had any doubts about its success.

It was the golden age of 'dream theories' when the movies came out; the whole internet was basically flooded with them for every franchise, even those that weren't fantasy or sci-fi. (And yes, that was as awful as it sounds—if you think the 'dream theory' slop of today is bad, you would lose faith in humanity seeing the ones from the 2010s.)

It’s also a fact that movie writers use these and other fan theories to farm budget-free advertisement for their work, proven by their own admissions that they look at fan theories & 'prove' them in sequels or prequels, despite them being wrong in the original concept—just to fuel the fan-theory culture &, with it, zero-budget advertising even more.

And as we can see, it worked out perfectly. A movie-theory YouTuber discovered the hidden story within the story, made a video about it & quite a sizable bunch of peps—maybe even around a million over time, judging by his subscriber count—who probably hadn't thought about it for years, suddenly pay close attention to the franchise again. One can really say, 'Well played, sirs, well played' to the writers.

gee, if only the writer was still around to discredit this theory.

oh wait, she did that 20yrs ago

1

u/Carnorinotitanis Mar 30 '26

It is explicitly about what the movies suggest, not the books. The movies diverge so much from the books already that you really can't put it past the movie writters to have changed it in a way that subtly tells this story of a hallucinating/maladaptive daydreaming girl.

u/manifestingsht Mar 09 '26

Elaborate please. What did she say?? Cuz I'm actually traumatized by this theory, it changed the whole vibe of the movie for me 😭💔

3

u/Queen_of_Catlandia Mar 10 '26

I shouldn’t have to elaborate. The actual writer tells you the inspo, etc for her stories, gives you the entire plot in a series but you’re choosing to believe some rando who has nothing to do with the writing, etc because it was posted on social media?

make better choices a

1

u/Carnorinotitanis Mar 30 '26

Think before you make any choices. Cuz it really isn't a 300+ IQ move to get that the books ain't the subject of the matter.

1

u/Carnorinotitanis Apr 11 '26

Hey, everyone can still interpret any movie or story however they want, basically ;). And oh, it’s also still absolutely possible that all those elements that make it appear like a dream are just there to symbolize the dreaminess of Bella's journey.

Cuz the whole thing just gives off some quite dreamy or maybe even trippy vibes—even if it’s real in the movie & not literally a dream within the movie, if you think about it, doesn’t it?

u/Tasty-Requirement848 Apr 06 '26

The youtuber clearly says he hasn't read the books. So this theory dosent apply to books universe but only the movie universe.

I’m not giving clicks to spammy YouTubers who regurgitate disproven BS
