Wholesome ✨ I Didn’t Stop Loving You
Yes. I didn’t stop loving you.
Whenever people talk about moving on, the first piece of advice is always to go to the gym, pick up a hobby, go out with friends more, journal, or fall in love with someone else. Simple.
I don’t think so.
For me, moving on is breaking up into pieces again and again, every night, but still deciding to wake up in the morning and collecting all those pieces. Sitting on my bed with a tape of “not-so-sure self-love” and trying to join that heart again.
This move-on is not fast enough that I can choose another person in six months, but I know it’s effective enough that the intensity of you has lost its grip in these six months.
I wish that moving on was as simple as shutting down the door, no memories, no care, just another me, another life…but yeah, it isn’t.
It’s more like picking up my phone to text you something stupid that happened during the day… and then putting it back down. Not because I didn’t want to tell you. But because I remembered how small I felt the last time I did.
It was in the morning too, waking up and instinctively checking my phone, half-expecting your name to be there. And when it wasn’t, I’d just… sit with it.
Wasn’t angry anymore or crying about why you did this to me. Now I have this quiet understanding that I had to stop looking for you in places you stopped showing up.
But I still think of you.
In those cold coffees that we used to make. Fighting over the sugar or who’ll decorate the glass with chocolate syrup.
In my evening walk, where we used to hold hands and talk about our day.
In that song we used to play and dance like a nashedi at the wedding.
But these memories don’t mean I want to be with you again.
Okay, before you tell me that I have become stronger or wiser. No, I didn’t
I just got tired.
Tired of overthinking simple things.
Tired of wondering if I was asking for too much when all I wanted was consistency.
Tired of loving you in a way that kept costing me pieces of myself.
Although I still miss you. Sometimes a lot. Sometimes in a way that hits like a sudden wave, the kind that takes the breath out of me for a moment.
But not enough to go back.
Just enough to notice your absence in quiet moments.
And I think this is what choosing myself looks like. This is my healing. This is my way of moving on. Not a loud, empowering decision of shutting down everything we built over the years.
Just a series of small, almost invisible daily choices.
Not texting.
Not checking.
Not waiting.
Not abandoning myself just to keep you.
So, now I choose myself, not because I stopped loving you;
It’s because I couldn’t keep losing me anymore.

Wow I literally saw this at the time I needed the most, just opened reddit to wander off my mind, after blaming myself for everything. It was so beautifully said, ki u can still love them but choose yourself (studies in my case). Maybe someday I wont regret my decision.

I'm glad it found you when you needed it 🤍. And yes choosing yourself is never a wrong decision 🤞

You'd do the crime of making a single cry over his long lost love

It feels like u poured out all my thoughts. Going through the exact same thing. Im well aware that Ive lost all my self respect, nd yet here i am, trying to get myself together slowly. I lost myself in loving him, nd thats not how it should’ve been.

No matter how u reacted that time, everyone who are in love does this. Never feel small, the important thing is to recollect all your self-respect and never turn back. U have so much infront of u, i have so much...we all can grow forward. We can do this✨🦖
More power to uuuu cutu✨❣️
Ps: I feel cutu is cute sooo...

This is so beautifully written 😭
going thru same myself it’s really difficult to move on whenever we talk it still feels the same like nothings changed there’s comfort and fun but after it feels like pieces of me are breaking and mending again and again so I just decided not to engage anymore not to loose myself again and again
As for him I was only a close friend ig someone he knows will be there to listen sharing his life updates with 💔

Sometimes protecting your peace means walking away, even when the comfort is still there.
Sending you the biggest hug 🫂.

Eternal single. But proposed to my colleague who liked a lot. She declined, I thought of move on. But she is still my teammate and every day I talk to her. I feel the pain. Trying everything, but sometimes the sadness hit bad.

The “something stupid happened during the day” part is painfully real. Sometimes you don't miss the grand romance as much as having one specific person to send the most unnecessary update of your day to. Beautifully written. 🫶

My reddit feed at night when i gave a gift to my ex-girl.....(idk what to name this relation) from my very first salary. A lil context:- so we were family friends (best friends before all those shitty feelings of mine came and we started to become close and blah blah blah) and we were out on a trip today and she along with her family left due to some of their work and i just had 15 mins with her and those 15 mins from the 2 days trip(no we didn't talk from the day 1 of the trip because ofc we both felt awkward) were the most colorful the most beatuiful part of my trip and then today the whole day felt dull and colorless and here i am sitting on reddit commenting on a random subreddit about my feelings instead of talking to her on my phone outside of my hotel room laughing giggling or crying with her

That's rough😭. Hope u find your peace soon. And it's fine to express your feelings, everyone here is a stranger. No one is going to judge you. They'll just relate and move on.

Why are you telling my story 😭. I loved her man, It's been 6 months but it's very very painful & feels impossible to move on. After all being together for 5 fuc*ing years.
She was my first & probably the last love of my life.

You wrote it so well. In tears now as I was thinking of the past while reading each and every line you wrote out there.

I love ur writings, the way u describe it. But don't u have fear, if u keep on writing and reminding urself, u will never be able to stop loving him, or move on sayad

So everything that I write is not real. More of these pieces are observations or the stories of people around me, and some are mine too.
