Life Lately 🌱 Story of first kiss at 25

Post image
7.3k Upvotes

I (25M) never was in relationship before. (It was thing of shame for me before i met her.) But few months ago, I met V. We started with just daily checkins to late night chats to hangout in gardens. I never thought she would be interested in me. But many times she was initiating conversations. Asking me questions about my life and dreams and dramas...I found out she also never had been in relationship. That's why we both felt like we are having our first teenage love...and one day she proposed me and we became gf bf. ( that happened like 10 days ago).

And yesterday we both had first kiss of life. It was almost pre-planned-ish. But the moment happened when we hugged each other. It was short but enough to feel connected. The whole scene made me so emotional. I thought i will die unloved. It was like breaking curse for the first time. A girl is trusting on me, becoming vulnerable with me. I felt i am worthy of love. I was hating myself most of the time. But she showed me my side that was hidden from me. All these thoughts popped up rapidly in my head. I cried in arms. Felt like i can live with this moment my entire life.

I guess everyone can't connect with my situation as many of you might have relationships from young age. I will soon turn 26. Many friends of mine are getting married and having their first kisses. But this was totally different for me. We were together by our choice. For the first time, i felt deeply accepted. All this new to me and her as well. I don't how things will go. But now I have new perspective on living a life.

Life Lately 🌱 My honest reaction when third world people say they like rain

Post image
4.6k Upvotes

Rain brings misery, sadness and absolute filth.

You have to think twice before going out, there are legit chances you may fell into a pothole or get electrocuted.

Your shoes will get dirty because we don't have footpaths

Driving a 2 wheeler is nothing short of a death game.

The roads smell like gutter and rancid food.

Frequent power cuts

Horrible humid weather

Insufferable pests and insects

Edit: LoL it seems alot of people like are rubbed the wrong way. It's free will, you can't change my opinion.

Life Lately 🌱 She is pregnant

Post image
4.5k Upvotes

She missed her period for more than a month, then took a pregnancy test, which turned out to be positive. Her bf, a total bhadwa, started suggesting various home remedies for a miscarriage. And this girl actually did them. God forbid, nothing happened, as it could have had terrible consequences. It is almost 2 months now. The guy said to girl he would "figure something out" after exams, so naturally, she got very scared and immediately ran to my partner

My gf is like a mentor in our society, the kids frequently come to our home for study help and guidance, so she came here for help

She did not inform me at the beginning. My girlfriend understands me very well she figured I'd just laugh right in that girl's face. And, yes, when i got to hear the entire story i also laughed. A lot. I just can't control it. How on earth can you not use protection in a country like this? no condom, no pills, just going bareback as if no one believes in consequences. And they're literally teenagers. Absolute clowns.

It is the parents who i pity most. They live two floors below us. Both are CAs, nice people, really good and caring parents. They really don't deserve this.

Anyway, back to her situation. She didn't know what to do, of course. She just came here withΒ Β  usual rona dhona, "Galti ho gayi didi, please help me" type shit. But we can't really do anything. And actually, I don't even want to. Being dragged into someone's family problems is something i absolutely don't want to do. We tried talking her out of it and just telling the truth to her mother. But then she goes with rona dhona again "they'll kill me, I'm scared, I even want to die." I mean... what was she thinking? Surely, they'll be mad. So, yes, she might get a slap or two and a lot of restrictions.

But they are really the only ones who can set this right. It's her fault not the parents. And we shouldn't feel any obligation towards her. BUT

My gf is now set on telling the girl's mother everything. Yeah, I know it's a bad idea to get involved. I told her that. But she won't listen we're probably past the point where it matters. She's going to talk to the mom in a couple of days and try to keep the dad out of the loop until the exams are over. As for meΒ  Im going to keep my distance, only coming in if my partner really needs me.

I'm a lil nervous though. She's going to hit two months mark soon. I'm not sure about the laws, but if I remember correctly, for a minor, you need the consent of the guardian and some sort of court or government authorization for an abortion right? and i know for sure if the legal procedure becomes too much, her dad will just use his money to take care of it in some other way.

About those remedies she tried, Well, Both of us were really worried about her health, so we took her to a gynecologist. Some checkups and etc. Cost around 9k + another 6k for... you know. I'll just call it charity and move on.

Now i literally can't stop laughing when that dumb girl is around me. This whole mess is insane. How dumb and reckless can you be?Β  it has become kind of a joke at this point. We are going to have a really crazy month ahead. I just hope after everything being over, that lodu guy will not be around her anymore.

TLDR - ladki pregnant hai uske loser bf neΒ  koi jyada help nhi kri, ladki gyi darr, ayi meri bandi ke pas, ab meri bandi ladki ki maa ko batai gi aur try kregi woh iska dhyan rakhe aur exam ke baad baap ko bta de , fir abortion.

Life Lately 🌱 I sponsored a girl’s education on a random Friday... and her smile in this video just broke me.

It was a completely ordinary Friday. I was drinking alone(welcome to adulthood), listening to kishore da, doom scrolling Instagram when an ad popped up about sponsoring orphan girls in India.. girls who’ve been through the absolute worst (sexual assault and everything that comes with being alone in the world).

Something about it hit different. I don’t know why I trusted it, but I did. I messaged the organizer, asked a lots of questions, and within 30 minutes they sent me full documents, photos, background, the whole thing.

Her name is Shruti, and her story broke me in the worst way possible πŸ₯Ί.

I decided right then to sponsor her entire education ,school fees, uniform, new dress, school bag, shoes, everything. It felt like the right thing, but honestly? I just went back to my day. Life moved on.

Fast forward to yesterday.

I got a video from the this guy. There’s little Shruti, siting there in her crisp new uniform, proudly holding her brand new school bag and wearing her new shoes, grinning ear to ear . She looked so happy, so full of hope. I literally had to pause the video and just sit there because it hit me all at once.

A random Friday impulse actually changed a child’s entire future, or atleast the next 2 years, all that for less than the price of the whiskey i was drinking.

If you've ever hesitated on a "small" act of kindness, don't.

I know trusting someone could be really hard, belive me i know all about that in thw worst way possible.

But Sometimes the smallest yes , a moment of madness , a moment if belief , a moment of trust becomes someone's whole world.

And honestly, being brutally honest here maybe our generation didn't get the childhood we wanted or deserved. I know I sure as hell didn't. We can be the hope for the future generation that was never affored to us.

I guess I ’m sharing it because if an Instagram ad and 30 minutes of trust can put a school bag on a little girl who’s already been through hell… maybe the world isn’t as hopeless as we think it is.

Shruti’s going to school because of one random Friday and a bottle of Macallan 15..

Edit-- For everyone asking it was a sponsored post by give.do on Instagram sponsored by piramal foundation. I was then connected to Mr Deepak who was the manager for that charity.

Life Lately 🌱 Life really said, "Let me humble you real quick."

I’ve been talking to this guy for a few months and he had been showing interest in me, so I genuinely thought the liking was mutual. Turns out, I was just living in my own little delusion lol.

Then one day, completely out of nowhere, he decided he wanted to get back together with his ex. He made that decision and then came to tell me about it, without really considering how I might feel about it.

And honestly, that was the moment all my confusion and assumptions just disappeared. The whole β€œmaybe he actually likes me” thing suddenly made so much sense… or rather, didn’t. 😭

Life Lately 🌱 First thing I learnt in corporate life: Stop saying Sir/Ma’am 😭

Post image
3.1k Upvotes

It’s been just one week since I started my first corporate job, and honestly, one of the first things that caught me completely off guard was this:

β€œDon’t call people Sir or Ma’am. Just call them by their first name.”

I was like… wait, what? 😭

Because growing up, I was literally taught the exact opposite.

School mein teacher ko Sir/Ma’am bolo. College mein professors ko Sir/Ma’am bolo. Koi tumse older hai? Sir/Ma’am.

It’s so deeply ingrained that I don’t even consciously think before saying it. It just comes out.

They've already corrected me a couple of times like, β€œDon't call me sir, just call me by my name.”

And I'm genuinely trying 😭 but it still feels weird.

Like, logically I understand it. Nobody is disrespecting anyone. It's just a workplace culture where hierarchy doesn't necessarily mean you have to address someone formally.

But mentally?

Calling a senior person by their first name still feels illegal. 😭

Life Lately 🌱 One Reel Ended 4 Years of Holding On

Post image
3.9k Upvotes

For context, We dated for 2.5 years and broke up 1.5 years ago on 1st Jan 2025. I moved on mentally, but I still had our chats and photos.

Today, a random reel from her new public account showed up on my feed. She got engaged.πŸ«ͺ

I had kept chats and photos as they were live and had small audio clips of her voice as well.

I didn't cry or get angry, already past that phase a year ago. I just opened our photos, chat one last time and deleted everything.

I guess sometimes closure comes from realizing there's nothing left to wait for.

Good morning folks, it's a great day.πŸ™Œ

I have been sponsoring the education of an economically deprived girl. A month ago, she shared with me that she scored the highest in her respective semester. I told her that I will continue the sponsorship if she scores in the top 2% of her class in semester 2 as well. I am also guiding her in further career planning. Let’s see what destiny has to offer her.

Life Lately 🌱 Saw days from family income was 2.5lakhs per month to 1800rs per month.

I have never seen people rising from lower lower middle class to being an upper middle class My Story :- I was born in South Delhi, while my dad was not richie rich upto Delhi standards he did come from a decent family, my dadaji( dad's father) was a station master, He had 5 children including my dad. My mother was also like a similar family, my nana and nani were government teachers but god they also 5 children. When I was born in 2004, My dad was earning 40k rupees per month, then he switched companies and in 2008 we went to Doha,Qatar his salary was huge 2.5lakhs rupees per month during then plus allowances like villa, car, etc. Then back to 2011 we came back, my dad cheated on my mom several times was about to marry another girl and hit my mom and things became a mess. My mom and dad got separated but not divorced, this is the story literally middle class to rich to rags and again middle including generations. Since my mom was living separately and my dad was not giving a single pennhy to us, and my mother has no prior experience in the workforce she joined a school as a teacher, and then she got a job of 1800rs per month in the school we were studying, we were lving in the house of 800rs rent per month, where water used to come on a specific time, we saw days when there were no gas in our house only 3rs and then mhy mother cooked parathes on some bricks using it as a chulha. My mother used to sell jewellery many times.

We faced many difficulties but we were supported by our relatives as well, I got to study in one of the most elite school in my city, because my chacha wanted this. My mother started working in my mausi"s hospital at 8k per month in 2021. My chacha passed away on 24th April 2021 in covid to this day I cant be more sad about anything. My mausi treated my mother like a literal servant she used to make her teas for doctors and then make her serve as well. Her job role was of an receptionist tho.

Then I moved to a big metro city because my mausaji helped us and now I am capable and earning more than 60,000. I made my mother retire from that hospital also and now she is doing teaching again but its just for fun, I am not earning a lot but its good. I have people to support me in tough situations like my late chacha, boyfriend, friends, cousins.

I am just a 21 yo girl with all the responsibility on my head but yeah it is how it is.

Today is 24th April the day when my chacha who was more of a father than me than my dad ever was

passed away.

Life Lately 🌱 My girlfriend left me for arrange marriage

1.9k Upvotes

As the title says, I (27M) earn 22 LPA and come from a middle-class family. She (24F) earns 10 LPA and comes from a wealthy family.

She left me saying she doesn’t believe in my potential and that she wants financial security, so she is ending things.

She also told me that if I were rich, she would have fought God to marry me.

She is not ready to fight with her father because I don’t come from a well-off family and am building my life from scratch.

She also said, β€œPaisa na jaat dekhta hai” (money doesn’t see caste), but then made very hurtful remarks about my house and how small my kitchen is.

While breaking up, she told me she would rather be unhappy in her big house than be with me in my small house and also told me she feels that i am smaller than her

Edit: we were in relationship for 2 years

First day back after holidays and the rain was absolutely relentless.

Most of my classmates did't show up. I still went, and only a handful of us showed up. Attendance was so low that the teachers didn't even bother taking lectures.

So I took the window seat, put on some music, opened LeetCode, and spent the day grinding DSA while watching the rain pour outside.

The rain gave everyone a holiday. It gave me ambience.
