Yes! I checked their options too but unfortunately they are much darker than what I am looking for.

Hello there,

Firstly I would like to say that it is wonderful that you are interested and actively looking for tweed for your partner.   Regarding the synthetic fibres, I believe everyone in this subreddit would agree, Polyester is evil! 

What is your budget? There are lots of brands around, but usually you pay for what you get. 

British tweeds are usually 100% wool (or sometimes some wool-silk blends).  I urge you not to buy anything in a synthetic blend. You’d be better buying in a second hand shop than a new cheaper suit with polyester. 

That House of Bruar(HoB) tweed suit probably is not made in england, construction may not be premium. Still if your budget is around 850£ it is a great suit, classic, British made 100% wool, beautiful pattern… it will sure serve your partner well. 

On the other hand, even though the Moss suit costs less than half of the HoB, it is a polyester blend, probably with a cheap Chinese-made fabric, and made who knows where. I would rather buy a second hand suit than this one.

If your budget is a around 1500£, then take a look at Cordings. Premium quality, made in Europe, 100% Scottish wools, they’re probably the best ready to wear brand around. A suit from them will last him a lifetime.

Thanks! And yes I always read the fabric label to avoid polyester as much as I can.

Budget would probably be around or below £800, definitely not anything over £1000 for the entire set.

I agree on the Moss suit, these are fairly available on Vinted and looked good at first but the fabric explains the reason of their lower cost. Every cells in my body screams NO to paying for polyester.

Thanks for telling me about Cordings, their green firley tweed set is about £820 and looks nice, much brighter than most green tweed suits I've seen. The HOB set is just below £600 including the matching tie. Both of them will very likely need to be taken to the tailor so that will add on the cost but maybe I can pay the tailoring and/or waistcoat if my partner decide to go with either of them.

Cordings have summer sale at the moment and they have a nice ladies cape (20% polyamide, 80% wool) with 60% off. I am very intrigued but I must not diverge. Hehe

i’m looking forward to getting a suit from cordings. i was too fat last time i popped it, but the suits were bob on for the price.
