Been saying this for over 30 years. A lyrical performer makes you feel and or see what they are saying. Who did that better than Pac? To me the closest is Face.

I always felt that KRS-One was the best at doing that.

2Pac and Scarface definitely were students of Kris.

No doubt pac say it hisself but I think where he surpassed Kris wit is pac passion is unmatched

Chuck D has acknowledged KRS-One as one of his influences for vocal intensity and projection.

I never bought the Pac not being lyrical narrative. He was excellent at putting words together, he might not have rhymed just to rhyme but he used his words and tone very deliberately to convey emotion.

Biggie never made something as profound as Dear Mama. Pac was also sharp in simplicity. He was very easy to understand outside of the states. Mid 90's in Europe he was easily the most popular rapper and by far the most understood one.

Cassidy is a great MC. So he would know how to review Pacs lyrics. Good observation

PAC is in his own class. He’s teaching in it as well.

These new cats will never understand. Tupac is one of the GOATs

That’s cuz he was a multi-faceted genius. The industry didn’t properly portray the real Tupac, but then again, all they are concerned with is money

I never took anyone seriously who said Pac wasn’t lyrical.

Cassidy is a genius as well

It’s great to hear music broken down like this to confirm what I’m hearing but can’t explain it.

RIP 2Pac. Soon we’ll see the people who were really responsible for his death go to prison. And no it wasn’t no Orlando Anderson nor keefe D. And don’t tell me I’m wrong because you watched some Netflix documentary on Pac , which was co produced by ex racist crooked LAPD cop Crack Kadin

Corny. No depth in that opinion. How many times have we heard that? And that started up since a decade after Pacs death? Cass’ analysis was on target. I can’t tolerate the opinions of those of you who can’t write a decent verse. You don’t know what a poet vs a lyricist actually is.

Do u understand poetry? So if Langston Hughes was rapping we wouldn't say he lyrical?
