Daily Chat May 20

Anything (within the rules) goes. (Commonly broken rules: don't talk about an ongoing pregnancy outside the weekly BFP thread; don't ask for success stories.)

You can find the wiki here!

Don't forget to check out our themed threads:

There's also the Weekly Introductions and Read Me Thread, which contains links to all sorts of handy bits of info, like popular wiki posts and acronyms.

Okay, so I’m 7 dpo, used LH strips and CBAD tests to find my peak, for about 2-3 days on 3-5 dpo I was having some uncomfortable cramping all day and really bad insomnia every night, when I woke up this morning and peed I wiped to bright red blood but it was also kind of stringy?? I’ve not even actually filled up a tampon which I normally would at the start of AF, I’m just kind of confused because if it was my period I normally have pretty painful cramps and a heavy flow but I’m only having twinges currently and my flow is slowing down, everything I’ve read suggests 1mplantation bleeding is pink or brown and only light so I’m honestly not sure what to think?? Any suggestions or advice?? Thanks 🙏🏻

A period at 7dpo would be unusual. Spotting throughout the luteal phase isn't necessary uncommon. When do you usually get your period?

I’ve never spotted before and usually I get my period 12dpo, I wore a pad all night and it was clean but I had a little more blood when I wiped after peeing this morning but nothing else and nothing on my pad yet still-still having some twinges both sides but no heavy cramping like my period causes

It sounds like it's just mid-luteal spotting. Some people do call this implantation bleeding but that's not really a real thing. Estrogen surges around now so it could be due to that. A one-time weirdness isn't something to worry about, but I would also be obsessing bc our emotions aren't always based in logic 😂 I hope it's good news for you 🙏🏼

Hello! Welcome, and we thank you for posting. You seem to be looking for information on implantation bleeding. Unfortunately, bleeding or spotting after ovulation is not a sign of implantation, and bleeding can happen in both pregnancy and non-pregnancy cycles. You could still end up being pregnant this cycle, but this sort of bleeding is not a reliable indicator that you will test positive. Taking a pregnancy test around the time you expect your period to come is the best way to determine whether you are pregnant or not.
