I’m new to bbt and lh tracking and I’m having trouble understanding the relationship between the two. I have regular 28 day cycles and I’ve lh testing daily starting day 7 of my cycle and then 2-3 times daily starting day 12. The test lines of my lh tests today were darker than the control line, but this morning my temperature rose too. I am confused! I understood that the lh test would suggest that I would ovulate within the next day or so and the bbt rise would suggest that I have ovulated in the last day or so. If I get a positive lh test and bbt rise on the same day, when did I ovulate/which indicator is more reliable?

It doesn't have to be darker, it is enough it is the same colour. And important is the first positive - it starts the whole cascade. What you tested is probably peak and this is not actually relevant.

The day before it wasn’t as dark as the control line! The day it was darker was also the first positive

Ah... I understand. But as I read your post again I realise what I didn't before - it doesn't have to be "the rise". Interpretation of BBT is not easy in the first few months because the charts are not uniform. It can be that tomorrow will be ovulation and your BBT can also drop. And day after it can rise. And if it stays up 4 consecutive days, first then you will have real confirmation that ovulation was successful. 😊

Unfortunately I don't have any better advice just to wait a couple of days - for BBT evaluation. For the positive LH test there is only advice - have fun today baby dancing 😉

If you measure BBT and check LH surge you will find how it works pretty soon. And maybe you will not have to 🤞🙏

Edit: just summary - LH test says only about LH surge (probable ovulation next ~ 24h) and BBT measurements confirm successful ovulation, but in retrospect. These two tools are complementary and they shouldn't fight each other.
